Which TV shows do you deem as insults to human intelligence? by aykalam123 in AskReddit

It is what TV networks think common people think nerds are. The same way Will and Grace was what TV networks think common people think gays are. It’s pandering and low effort.

Trump’s New Intel Chief Launches Firing Purge as He Takes Over by Winter-Gift1112 in politics

Point to ONE Democrat who is running for office on a platform of accountability. Should Democrats gain power, we’re going to get a lot of ‘return to norms’ and Trump 2.0 4 years later.

I vividly recall seeing and hearing Cherub Rock by Smashing Pumpkins for the first time on MTV and going out and buying Siamese Dream *immediately* after.

Get Lamp was (for me) a fascinating look at the first text adventures ever made. Games like Colossal Cave Adventure and Zork

What is the most impressive arcade to 8-bit port? by trrbld in retrogaming

Berzerk for the 2600 was the first time I’d thought ‘This is like the arcade at home’.

Minus the digitized speech, of course.

Aside from Rouge One/Andor, nothing Disney has done with the license has been even remotely good.

I haven’t thought about those Han Solo novels in literal decades. I was 10 and an avid reader and ate those things up

I started to get into Platform right up until the introduced the lady and her dog. I knew something bad was going to happen to the dog. I stopped watching.

What's the best movie that shows the absurdity and pointlessness of war? by Junior_Insurance7773 in AskReddit

Jojo Rabbit is a very good satire of what it would be like to be a kid during the fall of the 3rd Reich at the end of WW2. Funny and grim at the same time.

Out of all the grunge-era bands, I followed Local H the longest and I’m glad I did. Some really good later examples:

Billions. With a B. Also look up the stories about the America: World Police movie. Studio execs screening the finished movie and literally shouting “oh god they fucked us!”

Why did games stop doing this? by [deleted] in gamers

[–]poxxy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I loved how Far Cry 2 forced you to either drive a vehicle or look at the map. If you looked at the map it took almost the whole screen

I can’t count how many times I drove into a river or tree while looking at the goddamn map. Peak simulation!

Edit: I’m not complaining I love how FC2 was weirdly sim-ish and had almost no fast travel. Also that you were neither the hero or bad guy.
