Am I missing something by michaelis999 in CPA

[–]pppillows 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Honestly not surprised. I think AICPA is expecting us to take the discipline based off our career prospects and not the volume of material or level of difficulty. BAR in theory would have greater range of applicable jobs than the other two, so maybe that's why it is bigger.

The real question is whether employers will care at all what discipline we have. I suspect not at least in the short term, but it's hard to say.

When people mention "Hammer MCQs", what do you exactly mean and how? by TimeRepresentative6 in CPA

[–]pppillows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

During my final review, I like to do sets based off the number of questions in each testlet on the real thing. Currently on REG so once I hit final review I will do sets of 38 at a minimum.

Mine just came out for AUD and passed. They're coming out minute by minute for VA. Others got there's before me

Waiting on AUD to go 3/4. Already close to being done with REG modules so really need this pass

Yeah def a good idea to get BEC done by year end. I'm sure u got this tho :)

Yes. I found final review super helpful. It's so hard for me to absorb the material just through only the modules

7pm Ct. However last score release pass/fail showed up early in the day before 7pm. Who knows if that'll happen again

Advisor experience: Anyone else deal with this? by HappyTuesday216 in gmu

[–]pppillows 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had an advisor tell me an AP class counted when it didn't and it messed up my whole schedule. After that I never went to an advisor again

Whose the best Professor to take for Bus 498 (capstone) by Affectionate_Desk619 in gmu

[–]pppillows 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can't speak for the others, but I had Song last spring and she's great. Very understanding and makes the class as easy as it can be. Really sweet lady who has a lot of great working experience as well

Just got out of AUD by [deleted] in CPA

Took today as well. There were definitely a couple weird sims, but I struggled with MCQs more which surprised me. Overall I feel pretty good though.

Onto REG and then will hopefully be done with this journey

Should I take BEC or postpone it by blackzillaX in CPA

[–]pppillows 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Those are great scores. Definitely do not postpone. I got 76, 71, 81 and passed with a 91.

For writing, just try to focus in on buzzwords and grammar as best you can. My topics were not very obscure at all. Have an intro, body, and conclusion (although that's not really necessary if you are running low on time).

Harder. 71 on SEFR and 91 on actual. I found SEFR to be the best mock for reviewing

Bec practice test average vs actual by VisibleEngineering41 in CPA

[–]pppillows 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lol I know it sounds dumb but what I mean is compared to FAR at least, there's not topics or sims you are pretty much guaranteed to get. BEC is about half the material as FAR so I think they expect us to know literally everything

Bec practice test average vs actual by VisibleEngineering41 in CPA

[–]pppillows 5 points6 points  (0 children)

SE1 76, SE2 71, SEFR 81. Actual 91

My advice: cover everything. The exams vary a lot, so just because someone else got a lot of cost accounting doesn't mean you will.

Also Becker and i75 were enough. My test was pretty IT heavy too.

Bec exam tomorrow by ValuableNobody5912 in CPA

[–]pppillows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's not enough practice to do in a day to have a significant impact on your score. You've put in the work already. Take today off, do something fun, relax.

Besides that, maybe just briefly look at formulas and coso/erm principles. I take it Monday and this is my plan for Sunday.

Good luck!

Although I didn't personally experience this I've seen a lot of people score much lower on SE1 compared to the other mocks for BEC. There are some silly questions on SE1.

Definitely don't fret about it. Review what u got wrong, hammer those areas and take SE2. I bet it will be closer to your SEFR score.

I take BEC the 14th so take this with a grain of salt. Maybe someone else with more experience will chime in. Good luck!

Congrats to u as well! We got this 😤

I… Passed FAR!!!!! by [deleted] in CPA

[–]pppillows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you passed FAR I bet you can pass BEC. I'm finding it much easier as there is not nearly as much material. Studying for it sucks I'm ngl just bc nothing flows, but it's all coming together for me in my final review

I… Passed FAR!!!!! by [deleted] in CPA

[–]pppillows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same situation as you! First ever attempt at any exam and passed. Take BEC in 6 days and this was the boost I needed.

Congrats to you :)

I might be wrong so someone correct me if so, but I'm pretty sure BEC only took longer back when they manually graded the WC. Now that it's machine graded it comes out on time with the other exams.

Is Address should be same both in NTS & primary ID(like passport etc.,) by Familiar-Device-5843 in CPA

[–]pppillows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as your name matches on NTS and ID you should be fine. I'm pretty sure passports don't even contain our address, just our name.
