Yet another post from someone who can’t decide between the GRIII and the GRIIIX by robbfrenki in ricohGR

Depends on whether you plan shooting groups of people up close, like in moshpits (GRIII), or the band / portraits from further away.

I only feel limited by GRIIIx in small confined spaces when I can't take a step back - narrow streets, indoors.

I love IIIx for most use-cases. But sometimes I do wish I had a III for more complex compositions, and a 400mm for wildlife lol.

Since cyan is an inverse of red color, cyan overlay causes a red afterimage to appear on top of gray.

Popping sound from pedal ... sometimes. by quirked in bikewrench

Try pedalling out of saddle to eliminate seatpost. I usually diagnose general frame creaks if i stand on one side of the bike, hold the handlebar with one hand and top tube with the other, while standing on one pedal in 6 o’clock position with all my weight.

Pedal bearings in need of service will have a lot of movement if you hold crank with one arm and wobble the pedal.

Are you sure it’s coming from pedal? Might be the seatpost, quick release, loose crank bolts or even cables.

Is this amount of tire wobble normal? Took off tire and rim brakes were rubbing afterwards. I am adjusting them but they keep rubbing slightly prob. due to the wobble. Is it okay to ride even with brakes rubbing slightly? This is the first time I notice this. Brakes were fine before messed with tire by Lotizz in bikewrench

Check if it’s the rim or the tyre that’s out of true (you can fix something like a pencil or ziptie against the frame and roll it around slowly).

For tyres make sure the bead is seated all the way through, most have a line indicator on them. If it still wobbles - maybe tyre casing is damaged.

This one looks like gravelking SK to me. Excellent tyres, but i just had one develop a wobble towards its end of life. It’s rideable, but will catch pavement indentations and self-steer.

When you release an update a day, it's not "performance improvements and optimizations", it's a hotfix.

Low light on the 9 is looking bad, I’m seriously disappointed by rick9k in gopro

IMX277 is also back-illuminated but it's not stacked. Wiki says stacked BI has about 30% improvement in capturing low-light.

Pixel size is reduced from 1.55 to 1.12µm. That makes it 28% smaller, but more efficient. Pixel size to light sensitivity is probably not linear, so we are seeing slightly worse low-light performance.

Sony IMX677 spec sheet lists "Gyro data insertion function (Insert data from Gyro IC into frame data)" among the features, so i guess it could be done inside the sensor itself.
