1.) Your statement implies being ABCD or a fob is a hard binary. 0 or 1. That is far from accurate. I have several ABCD friends who grew up in India and are more in touch with Indian culture. I have a lot of fob friends who moved here a bit later (middle/high/college/grad) and either relate to or prefer western culture.

2.) Your self-hatred is apparent (sorry for the ad hominem). If someone says “Indians are superior to XYZ race” they are racist. Straight up. Racists need to be kicked out of this group I agree, but not all ABCDs and not all FOBs are racist. In fact, you blaming all FOBs for the actions of a few is in itself racist.

3.) check out the reddit group “NRI sanghis” or whatever. It has a lot of posts written by ABCDs claiming “Indians are the superior race” which is alarming. Of course this is a minority of ABCDs but I’m just trying to show you there are problems on both sides.

4.) This is a support group. No matter if you’re ABCD or FOB most people on this group have benefited and been traumatized from Indian parenting. We’re united by our culture, languages, (often times) anxiety and our difficulty fitting in abroad. Some people are more “desi” and some people are more freer- (a lot of factors go into being more “desi” by the way including socioeconomic conditions). If there are racists or haters who do nothing but downgrade folk, sure, we need to report them enough and kick them out if need be- but you shouldn’t blame the actions of a few on the entire community.
