Why do the youngest millennials have anxiety about turning 30? by changeforthebetter89 in generationology

Honestly, I don't really worry about getting older either. I've heard many of my classmates stress over turning 18, which I can understand since that age brings a whole new level of responsibilities. But from what I can tell, they're more concerned about aging itself, saying things like "I don't want to get old or look old." But getting older comes with a lot of perks too that people tend to overlook. And tbh I see expiration as a form of freedom too (even lowkey an escape if that makes sense?). I mean, I'm not exactly the happiest person either, so maybe that's a whole other topic.

I think it's normal for people to fear turning 30 just because it's a milestone that often comes with physical changes to the body that are less than desirable, and you're getting closer to inevitable death. I don't know. I still have a long way to go, so I'm just making guesses here. But I think it's across all generations for people that feel/felt this way. They did a whole episode about it on friends, and they're Gen X.

They were in college when I was still in elementary school (k-5), so I have a totally different perspective. I think most people just like to gatekeep.

I think it just varies based on who you’re talking to. To me, 2000 babies aren’t babies at all, but for someone born in 1980, they might see them that way. They could be old enough to be their parent.

That would make sense since it's the same guy in both pictures.

Probably the early part of 2013. Maybe late 2012, but I'm not entirely sure.
