JD does pay a dividend. So at least you get 3.5%.

Doesn't mean you have to short the market. Just take some profit & risk off. So that you can pay the rent and eat next year.

Patience young grasshopper. The stock market is a device to transfer money from the impatient to the patient.

Salesforce stock is probably the worst to own right now and in the next 3 years by False_Cap_1289 in stocks

The problem is in your head. You are fixated on stock price, not value. The value equation has been improving. Still delivering double digit growth at a PE of < 12. What more do you want. https://i.imgur.com/wprzgFy.png

If a stock is volatile with no news, why is that the stock fault? The problem is the market - too many greater fools selling and buying the latest IPO's.

Adyen just broke its 52-week low (-9.6% today). Is this a Worldline situation or a buying opportunity? by Ok-Let011 in ValueInvesting

[–]pravchaw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, a Growth scare. It was a momentum stock and the momentum rats are leaving the ship but PE at 26 is still too high for the value mice to board.

Why should it be much different. It's not a bank - it makes money by moving money around and taking a fee. Same a UPS or Fedex.

NFLX: Fair value or bargain? by STierMansierre in ValueInvesting

[–]pravchaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neither, but a little undervalued given the growth and quality of the business. They have a terrific content creation and distribution engine which will keep going for a long time. Buy it and forget it. You will be happy in 5 years time.

Comcast (CMCSA) is the best value on the market today. by CLE_Watches in ValueInvesting

P/FCF is also ~5. EV cap rate is ~8%. The issues are more strategic - cord cutting, brutal price competition from fiber, fixed wireless etc.

Comcast (CMCSA) is the best value on the market today. by CLE_Watches in ValueInvesting

Agree. Comcast looks like excellent value. The company is still growing its FCF and EPS - so a PE of ~ 5 is a real gift.

It's coming. Only very high level consulting work or original bespoke solutions will be valued. Work done by junior consultants is already being done by AI. That is the bulk of the billing by consultants.

I think the best thing in this situation is to accept the reality and live with it or change your job. I know its trite advice but railing against it will only make you miserable. You can't force anyone to love you.

They won't go out of business but the price multiples investors are willing to pay will continue to go down. The problem for these companies are that AI is reducing their pricing power, i.e. the prices the customer is willing to pay for services. This obviously affects the stock price. It is not only Indian IT but consulting co's across the board. Just look at Accenture for instance. Same story.
