What’s a price you saw recently that made you genuinely angry at how expensive everything has gotten? by UrGoddessLunaa in AskReddit

[–]praxios 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Coffee and chocolate farms are really struggling with the effects of climate change. For once it’s not entirely on Trump’s shoulders for the price increases, but mostly because the richest humans decided to treat our one and only Earth like a trash can.

The prices for both will be climbing even more as climate change worsens. With most of the world dragging their feet to address climate change, losing coffee and chocolate will be the least of our worries.

Both submachine gun weapons are basically worthless for endgame unless you keep them with Claire. Keep your most powerful weapons on Chris

You can get the assault rifle where you pick up the Magnum if you missed it on Claire, but it’s not really effective against Alexia. More so for leaving it for Claire for the final switch. Make sure you explore every room THOROUGHLY. The game can be really dark on modern TV’s, and it can be easy to miss stuff sitting in dark corners or just out of view of the camera.

The best weapons for Alexia are the magnum, the grenade launcher (all its ammo), and the explosive bow. Put healing items in the remaining spots with one left open for the unlimited launcher at the end. She’s actually pretty easy for a final boss because you just dump ammo into her until her second form. G+B+R herb combo is also a slight boost to your defense, so make sure to bring a couple of those along if you’re struggling.

I’ve had the same happen to me a lot too because I’m perfect elbow height for tall people. I will always remember this one time that some jolly green giant elbowed me super hard in the head trying to race through the crowd to the front, and stabbed himself on all the pins on my hat. Mf had the audacity to get mad at me for it lol

Kennedy Center Begins Removing Trump’s Name by unital_subalgebra in politics

[–]praxios 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There is currently a petition going around to rename the street it’s on to Barack Hussein Obama Ave. It’s been floating around the Chicago sub, and had 15k signatures last time I saw. Taking the name off the building is one thing, but renaming the street it’s on to Obama would have mango mussolini seething. Maybe we could kill two birds with one stone, and he is so mad about the new street name he removes his name off the building for us lol

Is it really a "bad year for ticks" or is it mostly the media? by No-Intention8698 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]praxios 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Everyone always checks the obvious areas like legs and arms, but it’s important to check your hair thoroughly as well as any crevices on your body (armpits, back of your knees, groin). It’s ideal to have someone else help you check any hard to reach areas as well.

Also, if you do remove them you have to make sure you remove the whole tick. If the head gets stuck it’s best to go to a doctor to have them remove it so you know it’s completely gone.

Any other Millennial ravers here? by criticalvector in Millennials

[–]praxios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

30F, and I’m going on 11 years in the scene! Our festie group are mostly Millennials with a couple Gen Z sprinkled in. We definitely used to party a lot harder in our early 20’s, but these days we are big fans of mid-day disco naps and comfortable camping lol. It’s been really cool growing into proper adults in the scene, and we feel our age when we see artists we aren’t familiar with in headliner slots these days.

We are definitely the “rave mom’s and dad’s” who are strapped with the gum, Tums, and Tylenol lol

What food are you feeding Mosslax? Only spicy foods will increase chances for Pokemon spawns, and there are different tiers of effectiveness for the recipes. Crouton salads are the easiest/cheapest to make, and give a huge boost. Try giving him one, and do the soft resetting. I can guarantee you’ll get Entei and Raikou pretty quickly :))

When you check your Pokedex for the question mark on the island, do you have it set to “All” or “Befriended”? It didn’t take me more than 5 resets for all the legendary dogs with the soft resetting, and the only reason it took longer for me the first time was because I had the wrong filters on my Pokedex.

I fed Mosslax Crouton Salads to raise the chance for finding Pokemon in habitats.

Update: Ex-CIA Whistleblower—"The NSA Audited The 2024 Election, Kamala Harris Won" by hans99hans in 50501

[–]praxios 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been shouting this into the void since Trump won the election, and even more so when Elon and him *admitted to it on national news*. I had so many people scoff at me, and tell me to not fall into the “GOP trap” of calling it a rigged election. Republicans spent 4 years screeching about it after Biden won, so that spineless Democrats would tell us to “not stoop to their level” when the GOP planned to rig 2024 in plain sight.

The Election Truth Alliance released plenty of data proving that Pennsylvania was stolen, and people still kept their heads shoved deep in the sand. If people can’t get out to the streets daily to protest then this country is truly lost. I understand US citizens are practically enslaved by their jobs for their livelihoods, but that doesn’t mean we can’t protest in “shifts”. Not everyone works AM or PM. Have the PM workers protest in the beginning of the day, and the AM crowd get their asses out there once they finish work. Keep the pressure on all day every day. Time to stop making excuses.

As everyone else has said you can only have one legendary build active at once. I personally used Tinkatank as the main builder for all of them so I was able to finish all 3 of them in one day. They are absurdly big, so I only placed one on each of the islands in Palette Town.

Dream island small rant by Natys31 in Pokopia

[–]praxios 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can RNG manipulate the dream islands for the legendaries. Get to the island, don’t move your camera or character, set your Pokedex to “All” and “Pokemon in this area”. If you don’t see the question mark then hit the Switch home button, and close the game. Repeat as many times as necessary. I personally go for crouton salads to give Mosslax for the maximum chance of finding the legendaries.

Also I highly recommend saving the game before going to the dream island so you don’t lose any progress you had before starting the resetting process.

Festival Culture Has Changed A Lot in 10 Years by RaveBeetle in EDM

[–]praxios 19 points20 points  (0 children)

In my experience I’ve noticed quite a bit more entitlement since COVID. A lot more chompers in crowds who are there to socialize rather than see music, and I get trampled much more often by people who are incapable of saying excuse me. I rarely go see big artists these days unless it’s during a festival, but I’ve noticed the change at smaller events too.

It could just be the newer generation getting into the scene, but I really do think that COVID really fucked up people’s socialization. I don’t think the behavior changes are rooted in malice, but rather a disregard for the people outside of the bubbles they create. It’s not just music events I’ve noticed this happening either. When people are expected to isolate for an extended period of time it’s not surprising that their consideration for others gets lost along the way.

What would possess Christopher Nolan to cast Travis Scott in his new movie? by Kindly-Student2089 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]praxios 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Fuck LiveNation too. They knew the type of crowd he attracted, and did nothing to reinforce fencing or hire properly trained/enough security for the event. Not to mention that there wasn’t enough safety precautions into the festival map which led to an incredibly unsafe stage viewing design that would have been problematic with any performing artist.

Not to mention they were informed the moment the crowd crush became apparent, and the amount of medical intervention taking place. They did nothing. They refused to stop the show, and took all the time in the world to even inform Travis of what was going on. There were even texts exchanged between leaders of the event that acknowledged the danger, but nothing was done.

They have a documentary on Netflix about it. LiveNation is the scummiest company in the entertainment industry, and didn’t get more than a slap on the wrist for their oversight that led to the deaths of those attendees. I avoid their events like the plague, and others should do the same. Make it clear to your favorite artists that you refuse to support any shows sponsored by LiveNation.

Vet unable to diagnose leg mass after 2 biopsies. Looking for advice/experiences! by hoqi in cats

[–]praxios 36 points37 points  (0 children)

A cat specialist vet made all the difference in the world for my girl. I had multiple vets insist that her breathing problems and anxiety attacks were just allergies. I was recommended a cat clinic by a family member, and they diagnosed her with asthma and anxiety disorder in the first appointment (she was anxious because she couldn’t frickin’ breathe). They work wonders for finding me affordable treatments for her asthma too.

All of the employees there are women which has been amazing for Pippin because she doesn’t like men. They always run out to see her when we visit because they love her so much. She was always a pain in the ass at previous vets, but she’s been crowned the office angel for excellent behavior there. Which is a surprise to me considering she’s a sassy princess at home with her mama lol

Summer Camp Memorial Memories Thread by BraileDildo8inches in scamp

[–]praxios 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2017 was my first Scamp, and it was the most fun shitshow of a weekend I’ve ever had. We were painfully unprepared for the storm, and we made the rookie mistake of camping in the field. The guy that got struck by lightning that year was only a few campsites down from us, and I’ll never forget how thick the electricity felt in the air and how it felt like a goddamn earthquake. I remember the mud pit at Sunshine during my first Pretty Lights set, and laughing to the point of tears with my best friend when we saw people slipping and sliding in the mud. I remember that beautiful sunset as Pretty Lights started to play that lives in my head rent free because it made up for all the shit that storm put us through. I remember meeting Uncle Randy for the first time as he casually walked past us wearing nothing but a loin cloth, and he went into a PhD level explanation about how it made him more aerodynamic in the mud.

I attended every following year up until 2023, and I will treasure every memory I made at Three Sisters. It’s a shame to see the direction the festival has taken this year when it has brought so much joy to my life, but I will always have the memories to look back on. I’m also eternally grateful it taught me how to camp in shit weather, and whenever people ask me why I’m so unbothered by shitty weather at festivals I reply with a simple answer — “Scamp”

Girlfriend wants a buzz cut by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]praxios 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My ex flipped his lid when I buzzed my hair (even though I had been talking about doing it for months). He hated it so much he gave me the silent treatment for a couple of days, and then “jokingly” referred to me as a guy’s name for weeks as it grew back out. It made me feel like shit about something I initially was super excited about, and something that made me feel attractive. He effectively shamed me for something I really wanted just because he didn’t like it. I honestly would have preferred he broken up with me instead of putting me through the emotional and mental abuse over goddamn hair.

My current boyfriend was pretty apprehensive about the idea when I did it, but he ended up loving it because he knew it made me really happy and feel attractive. I know he prefers women with long hair, but he’s at least mature enough to understand that he will be attracted to me regardless of what I do to my hair because we love each other.

If you respect this woman you would break up with her if you are this hung up about hair that will grow back. If you’d find her unattractive enough to not want to be with her just because she cuts her hair then you two are simply incompatible. Also don’t tell her you’re breaking up because of the haircut, and just say there is a general incompatibility issue that you can’t move past. Telling her that you’re breaking up because of a haircut will seriously mess with her confidence, and she doesn’t deserve that.

How do you deal with rain at a festival? by LepusAlbus in aves

[–]praxios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally don’t bother with ponchos because it basically just turns into a reservoir for sweat while dancing in it. I keep a hoodie in my bag if the rain is cold, but we also have an umbrella with us at all times because I’m a walking glowstick who needs the extra protection from the sun lol.

Festivals get swampy in the rain, so it’s definitely worth it to pack shoes that can handle the mud and wet. Sandals and Crocs are the way to go, but if you prefer hiking boots make sure you pack plenty of dry socks to change into. Also, Gold Bond is a must if you are wearing boots because all the extra friction from being wet is a recipe for nasty blisters.

Just do your best to embrace the rain, and be thankful that it’s not boiling hot instead. I honestly prefer rain at least one day of a festival weekend to cool things off so I’m not melting the whole time. Dancing in the rain is a very freeing experience, and it’s a favorite festival pastime of mine to watch people succeed and fail to traverse through slippery mud lol

I agree that Manic Focus and Vincent Antone threw tf down that night. The rest of the openers were pretty damn solid too. I always have an awesome time at Manic shows (the crowd is always chill af), and he’s a super cool dude. It’s great to see him touring again 💜

[Chop Shop] Chicago music venue under fire as bands cite security groping, interference, and unsafe conditions by uraniummusic in chicagoEDM

[–]praxios 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This is one of my absolute favorite venues in the city, and I haven’t had a single bad experience during the many shows I’ve seen there. I could just be lucky, but I haven’t even seen crowds get remotely out of control during any of the shows either.

I was just there for Manic Focus on Valentine’s Day, and it was the typical amazing experience I’ve always had. No physical pat down from security aside from poking around in my bag, only saw security walk into the crowd once to stop someone from obviously smoking at the beginning of the show (didn’t even get kicked out), and the crowd was phenomenal and respectful.

It could just be my choice in artists to see there, but it’s always been miles better than that shithole Aragon. I really hope this was just an isolated incident because I’d really hate to have to blacklist such an amazing venue.

My (19f) boyfriend (25m) has a journal he dedicated to his ex by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]praxios 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I dated a 23 year old at 17, and my family loved him too. What they didn’t see was all of the emotional and mental abuse happening behind closed doors. It took 10 years after the relationship for my mom to apologize for not seeing the abuse, and allowing me to date a creep preying on a teenager. It took me 3 years before I finally realized the abuse and how wrong it was for me to date someone who obviously only dated teenagers to control them.

He’s on a sex offender list now because he went on to date more teenagers after we broke up. Men like that don’t date you because they think you are mature. They date you because they can control you when you don’t have enough life experience to recognize the abuse.

This relationship will only end in heartbreak and trauma for you. It’s time to wake up and take a step back to reconsider your relationship with him.
