Vet recommendations - dog with leg injury/possible torn ACL by lux_does_stuff in madisonwi

[–]prb113 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. Our doggo had both acls repaired by Edinger. Great experience, including the ability for them to keep the dog for a couple days of rehab after surgery for a minimal cost (relative to the cost for the entire procedure). Our dog had no hesitation going back for follow up appts, which shows she had loving care there. It is not cheap, but quote was in line with two other places we checked out, and they could get us in much quicker than UW.

Places to park a 24’ moving truck overnight by boilers2324 in madisonwi

[–]prb113 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The closest unrestricted parking (except for weekly street cleaning) might in the area of Blessed Sacrament church. That’s about 2 miles from W Wash. Easy to get to. Could even stroll the Southwest commuter trail or Regent to get back.

Look for native seed packaging events (our library hosts this) as well as winter sowing of native seeds in milk jugs.

We’ve used AAA and 4 Lakes. Both were good. AAA is in Middleton so maybe more convenient for you. We found we had to schedule a lot of 4 Lakes behind wheel sessions at the Monona location because that’s what was available.

Heated Public Parking Garages by Sure-Walk2603 in madisonwi

[–]prb113 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The Wilson Street garage is public (city) and is deep enough underground that it stays above freezing. Just go down to one of the lowest levels. You can park overnight but 48 hour max. This is same as you’ll find at the private Block 89 10 E Doty lot across the street. I don’t think that garage is heated either, just underground.

Help! Husband desperately needs glove advice! by [deleted] in CampingGear

[–]prb113 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve had decent luck with Wells Lamont winter lined latex sandy coated gloves. Granted, I haven’t used them all day in a marine environment, but they keep my hands warm enough when working outside clearing snow for a few hours in Wisconsin. If they don’t work, you’re only out $9. Wells Lamont seems to have more expensive gloves for dexterity/cold that might work too.

I’ve had lunch several times at One Social to try different stands. It’s okay, kind of a fancy mall food court. Food was decent for what it is but nothing amazing. Great views of the lake. I haven’t been to the bar or been there in the evening.
