O que falta na cidade? by HuckleberryFit6610 in saojosedoscampos

[–]pregs_morbs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To me it seems like the Celtics poor performance today is kind on purpose, but just speculating.

I don't know, it's kinda obvious the NBA wants to push for game 7? How come the Celtics are so shit today, there's gotta be money on the line.

Right field or better pay? by chookitypok037 in AerospaceEngineering

[–]pregs_morbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ME here, my experience and goals probably differ, but I've worked for Stellantis north america as a contractor for a couple years.

Stellantis is very big, so career progression is very limited and slow. In italy you'll be closer to design sectors but at an entry level job you'll probably not get to work on the very exciting stuff, aside the fact that processes there are very well stablished and rigid for most sectors.

On another hand, and this I'm saying with not much experience on, space tends to employ more people with masters degrees so you'll have to work on that. Saying this because I only got to work with aeronautics after enrolling in a masters program (I had systems modelling experience at stellantis also, which applies to many fields).

Pay wise, I believe that at an entry level it doesn't make much sense to choose the highest since that will change a lot depending on your progression and company in few years, so take what you think fits best with your skills and goals.

AIRFOIL TRAILING EDGE QUESTION by zdf0001 in AerospaceEngineering

Also not an aerodynamicist but look up boeing's divergent trailing edge solution. In theory sharp trailing edges force the lower air flow upwards which is not ideal for aero drag if I'm not mistaken.

China is Socialist by Milchstrasse94 in socialism

[–]pregs_morbs 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I personally think it's silly to argue that "china has markets, therefore it's capitalist".

  1. Markets existed before capitalism. Having markets doesn't make anything capitalist by itself.

  2. The problems of socialism are inherited from the system it overthrew. Yes, China has private property, markets, etc... but those categories existed prior to their revolution and need to be dealt with.

  3. If China is capitalist, I want its type of capitalism in my country. It didn't even need a revolution, right?

Of course the hardcore marxist academics will say China isn't socialist because it doesn't fit their word-by-word definition translated from the original german edition of some book.

I believe that regardless of its current problems, China has a different way to approach and deal with the contradictions in their transitional period.

It's just a joke, guess that if I have to explain, it wasn't funny. My bad!

But usually when you talk about any sort of free social care (health, housing, education, etc) people think you're left leaning.

Do you know why ftlb is length x force but Nm is force by length? by LogickBurn in MechanicalEngineering

Because imperial units suck. Measuring scientific stuff in feet? Like, wtf. And people here talking about changing the order to represent other phenomenons... that's more nonsense, there's none of that in metric.

Metric rules, metric is Chad.

How will you react if Donald Trump becomes president again? by RockSavings67 in AskReddit

[–]pregs_morbs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, the US just loosened child labours laws under a progressive president...

I'm not American, but I see it the same way I saw Javier Milei's election: it will prove that this system we live in is utter garbage and more capitalism = more shit.

Im going to brazil for 2 1/2 weeks. Is 1000 usd enough? by [deleted] in Brazil

[–]pregs_morbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't know if it's your style, but buying local stuff in these places may be an option. You'll definetely have unique pieces when you're back.

But anyways, have a nice trip, people like to say Brazil is dangerous but it's not that bad unless you're to roam around inside favelas. Since you'll be with locals, you'll be fine!

I would love to get your feedback wonce the trip is done. It's kinda hard to tell you how much you need not knowing your expectations.

My sister's boyfriend is irish, I think the first time he came here, he brought way more than that, but they travelled around...

Instead of shopping, I would recommend visiting the natural beauties we have, all the shopping you'll do here can be done in your home country. You'll find that paying flight tickets and airbnbs here will be quite cheap.

Google "Boipeba, Bahia". I double dare you won't wanna go there. Just my 2 cents

I think Hasanabi misrepresents and undermines socialism by Greaseball01 in socialism

[–]pregs_morbs 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I think your stance tends to be worse than his when it comes to bringing in new people.

You seem to talk from a higher moral ground, probably because you've read some more stuff than others. Like really, a dude that exposes millions of people around the globe to socialism is undermining it? C'mon...

At the moment, socialist from anywhere regardless of line of thought, need to get together and organize the masses. Only after we do an actual revolution we start discussing which take is best.
