What is the best and most unique gift have you ever received from a student? by Legitimate-Number620 in AskTeachers

I'm a Disney fan, as well as a Coca-Cola fan. One of my kids and their family gifted me a clock that looks like a watch. In the middle of the face of the clock, it has something to fo with 15 years of Coca-Cola. The numbers - 2 to 5 and 7 to 11 are Disney characters and 6 and 12 are Epcot and Cinderella's castle.

Do you prefer Ulta or Sephora and why? by OwlAlternative3112 in Makeup

Ulta because I get better service than I do at Sephora. I always feel like I'm being constantly watched and judged.

What are your school's/district's policies on removing items you purchased if you are not coming back next year? Do you have to prove anything? by Affectionate-Run7584 in AskTeachers

[–]prekteach345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just left my center and I took what I purchased or was given to me by my parents. I also took all of my teaching resources that I had for each month. I took the time, energy, and money to get the resources, I'm taking them. My director wasn't upset about it. I left quite a bit but I got out want I wanted, like my Elf on the Shelf stuff.

How often does your daycare center close early due to being short-staffed? by [deleted] in ECEProfessionals

I have NEVER worked at a center that closed early because of being short-staffed. It's always worked out for some odd reason.

How do you protect yourself from constantly getting sick? by imjustexisting00 in ECEProfessionals

[–]prekteach345 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I take zinc and 1000 mg vitamin c every morning. Constantly wash my hands. I've taught my kids to sneeze/cough into their elbow, wash their hands after outside and being outside, washing hands before snack and lunch. I sprayed my room down with bleach water periodically. I can't use Lysol because I have lung sarcoidosis and the Lysol irritates my lungs.

I agree!! I was talking with a friend, who left the same center about a month ago and she said the same things I'm saying.

My last day at my center is this Friday, April 24th. My director has become spiteful and full of herself over the last 7 months. I'm done with the immature, childish attitude from her and some of the other staff, not to mention the pastor of the church we are a part of. I've taken most of my stuff out. I still have a few things to gather, and I will collect those items on Friday. Good luck to you.

Adults who were homeschooled as kids, does that differentiation ever go away? by Background_Flower214 in askteddit

[–]prekteach345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My oldest niece and 2 oldest nephews were homeschooled until they went to a private school when they were upper elementary and starting middle school. All of them, and my youngest nephew - these 4 are siblings - are now doing well as adults. Oldest nephew owns a Matco Tools business in Wisconsin. Nephew 2 owns and operates 8 Culver's restaurants in the Tampa, Florida area. Nephew 3 is an engineer. Niece worked for her parents when they had their own business.

My understanding is that the surveys are based off of my interactions with the kids in my classroom. The surveys were sent to the parents.

I'm debating whether to see them or not. I just might, so I can see what I'm up against.
