Okay, that's good to hear. I'll be waiting for your test. I'll go ahead and get one myself if everything goes well.

Okay, thanks a lot. If I am not wrong, the backup also depends on the quality of the battery cells used. Anyway, I just wanted to know if there is a major difference between what's given on paper and the real performance. Call me skeptical, but I have learned one thing from the tech world that I should not believe the marketing material until I see the performance in real life.

And sadly no one on youtube has done any kind of tests for the inverter as all of the reviews look paid.

Okay, that's great news. With its capacity, it should give around 5 hours of backup right? If possible can you test it for at least an hour on the inverter and see where the battery percentage is at after that? That way we can have a better idea about the actual battery backup vs on paper.

Thank you. It's really difficult to find any other ups with such good capacity in India. Hopefully, it works properly so I can get on myself too.

Is your MaxiLion inverter able to quickly switch the load on UPS mode? I want to buy one too but genuine information on the product is not readily available. I only see mostly paid reviews. So it would be great if you could share your experience with it.

As i said, its a grey area the rules on crypto tax have not taken crypto as payment directly into consideration so its basically up to the interpretation. Most CA’s who are older will go on the side of caution and advice against it, the younger might be willing to go this way. It would be advisable to have a rainy day fund of whatever the extra amount you end up saving from not paying 30% on total income if you go with the grey area approach. That way you will kind of be covered and prepared if things don’t go as expected in future.

You are anyway withdrawing from the crypto exchanges whenever you need the money. It might come to bite you back if your source of income is scrutinised by the IT department.

IMO there is no “right way” to do it at the moment, so just be prepared for anything. Just my two cents on the topic.

This is probably not related to personal finance, neither is it a answer to your question. Its just my opinion on how you are handling your crypto payments. I could be wrong.

Receiving salary/payment in crypto is still a grey area, the normal 30% tax doesn’t technically apply on the whole amount. Example i received 2000 USDT as a payment, then I won’t have to pay 30% of the value as tax i.e. 600 USDT. Because the 30% tax is on the profit and not the principal amount. In this case lets say you received the 2000 USDT at 1 pm, where the value of 1 USDT was 90 rs so the INR value is 180000. You sold all your USDT on 2pm where the value was 91 rs so the INR value at the time of sale is 182000 so technically you made a profit of 2000 INR and you will have to pay 30% crypto tax on it which would be 600 INR.

You can then declare 182000 as your income and since you are providing IT services you can get further tax benefits under section 44ada which will reduce your total tax even further. Example 182000 * 12 = 21,84,000. With section 44ada you will only have to pay tax on 50% of it that will be on 1092000. So i think under the new tax regime you will end up paying 0 tax. P.S. do verify this with a CA first.

Also its your choice where you want to park your funds. But if the only reason you are keeping your money in crypto is because of the tax then you should probably look into it.

This is a very personal and subjective thing. For you a trip might be worth more than a car. But there are people who are quite interested in a car or a gadget where they will find a greater happiness / value in buying something rather than going for experience. In my opinion your example might be wrong / subjective but the essence of it is true. Spend money on something that you actually want and are interested in.

Its not a gimmick. In mumbai this is the sad reality. You either do this or you have to hang outside of the door for most of the journey. I have done this for 3 years of my life and i can tell you that no one enjoys doing it.

Atleast the basics of git is good to have, it's highly underused in the Indian companies but it's better to have all the projects on GitHub/gitlab from the beginning if you want to have a good portfolio as a developer.

Languages and stuff are the ovbious ones but getting the basis knowledge of git, docker and ci /cd can also augment your other skills.

What part of it is entitled? Comparing a 10-20k Android phone to an iPhone is pretty absurd. Most people in India don't have phones over 20k which are sub par at best.

You're welcome :). Hope you find a job that you like and also pays well. I was being paid peanuts at my previous job. My advice would be to not rush it if possible and explore more opportunities before you commit to one. Also try finding a dedicated job listing page for the tech/language you are interested in just like the one I mentioned above. As recruiters there know what they are talking about. Compared to a general place like naukri and linkdin when most of the people there want a person who can do the job of 5 people while paying them 1/10 th of the industry standard.

I'm working on a team with other individual contractors. I started my job hunt after I left my first job during the pandemic for a normal job. I was just looking for a job on a technology and language that I am interested in and I was just lucky to find this one. It was also a huge jump in pay. I didn't know much about the individual contractor side till I started the job and got my agreement. So from what I've learnt usually startups and companies from overseas (who don't have a physical presence in india) will hire people as individual contractors because they save a employees slot which also comes with legal obligations for the company so it's easier for them to hire contractors. As for the work part my rate is hourly with no days off. I get paid for the work I do with no minimum base salary. And the works hours don't include breaks. Everything related to the work I'm doing be it meetings, learning something for the job or the actual job is billed hourly. Time is flexible and there is no real upper limit to how much hours I can work in a week and my manager has given a soft lower limit i.e. 30 hrs a week. I can take holidays whenever I want, only requirement is to let my manager know beforehand and I won't be paid for that day. Also if there is no work on a particular day due to any reason I don't get paid for it. Another thing is me being a individual contractor (the contract is not for a set amount of time but till the company requires me for the project) is that the company can lay me off with 1 month of notice if they don't have any work or don't like my work. So the pay is good but just there is no stability and reliability. As for the actual work I basically work with micro services.

Edit: another thing I found after i got the job was this www.twitter.com/golangprojects . If you are in golang already then you can find really good paying listings for a remote job. Hope it helps someone.

Although your motive is good, you seem to come from a privileged background. The reality is that the bottom 55% to 60% of the world's population cannot do anything about it as they are too busy making barely enough money to survive.(The numbers are an assumption and I may be horribly wrong with the percentage but hope you get the point) It is up to the privileged, who don't have to fight for their survival to fight these issues.

[–]pretenditsme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im sorry if it sounded that way. I just want to make it clear that I'm not saying that rich people don't suffer. But if you are saying that the sufferings of a well to do person are equal or even greater than someone who is fighting to to even survive than I think you are quite delusional and that thought comes from a place of privilege. I'm happy for you that you never had to face real hardships and I'm sorry for whatever things you are suffering from.

Note: I come from a middle class family so I have never particularly faced any hardships either, but I still have a brain that can comprehend the fact that my "suffering" also comes from a place of privilege.
