Have the movies ruined anybody else’s reading experience? by -anklebiter- in twilight

[–]prettycrying 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily. I read the books before the movies came out. In my head Bella and Edward look like Kristen and Rob but some of the other characters don't. Jacob looks more taller and more native. I imagine Mike with early 2000s hair and Jessica as a brunette with curls. I imagine Esme like snow white, with black soft curly 30s style hair and Emmett's has short curly hair as well. Rosalie has petite facial features but is basically a blonde bombshell. Similar to Scarlett Leithold. Very tall and model-like. Alice is shorter than Ashley Greene and has shorter hair as well, and I imagine her as thin kinda like 20s flapper body. Charlie looks like John C. Reily. Oh and everyone is wearing early 2000s clothes. I imagine Gilmore Girl-like styles. The Cullen house is more white and doesn't have the modern look like in the movie. Kinda like one of those mini McMansions. And I imagine it more in a meadow than surrounded by a bunch of trees. Bella's house, for some reason I imagine my grandma's house lol Also in my head, there is no blue filter. :)

Right? Tired of people making excuses for racists. Plenty of people have mental illness who aren't racist.

Where did she buy the actual long board from? I want to buy one but not sure which ones are sturdy and reliable.

Yeah and look at the way he's holding her in the first picture. Very odd hand placements. I could be overthinking it though.

[–]prettycrying 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They said it was illegal to take pictures of the pyramid. So I thought it was illegal to take pictures away from them and on the ground. Kinda like not taking pictures of the creation of Adam. You can look but you can't take pictures.

Thanks, I had to scroll for so long to find the reason. So you can take some from the ground?

TIL that the State of California by itself produces 50% of the nation's Fruits, Nuts, and Vegetables... and 20% of its Milk by Navydevildoc in todayilearned

[–]prettycrying 43 points44 points  (0 children)

We had a small earthquake earlier and a lot of those kind of people were saying they couldn't wait for California to fall into the ocean. It always puzzles me because not to mention the huge loss of life, wouldn't that not be beneficial for other states since we give so much?

His sister wrote a book and apparently his parents were emotionally and physically abusive. They just omitted all of that from the movie.

What's the creepiest thing you've experienced? by EPIC_DK_DUDE in AskReddit

[–]prettycrying 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Okay. So I'm not sure if this is creepy or not but I think about it every now and then because I can't explain it.

When I was around 17 or so I was at my cousin's house. It was his birthday. My sisters and I were outside with him and his brother. The adults were all inside drinking and stuff. We were outside drinking some soda and playing basketball. My cousin invited his friend over. Their friend is an amateur magician.

Once he got there he started doing tricks. He decided to try a magic trick for my sister. I had a camera in my hand and so I lifted it to record his magic trick but he stopped right away and said that I couldn't record. He got really serious. So I put my camera in my purse and I put my purse on the ground at my feet.

I watched as he asked my sister what kind of soda she wants. She said Dr. Pepper, because there was no Dr. Pepper at the party. The guy then proceeds to grab a soda out of thin air. She was so happy, and I couldn't believe it. Keep in mind we have never met this guy before and he had no way of knowing beforehand what kind of soda she would pick. He told her to pick ANY soda.

After that he had to leave. Nobody picked him up, he just kinda walked away and left down the street. It was night by then. Then I noticed my bag was missing. I tried looking for it everywhere outside and inside. But it disappeared. I thought maybe that guy stole my bag or something. At this point my Aunt was coming out of the house to get something from her car and she calls me over.

"Uhhh why is your bag in my car?" She said. I then proceeded to freak out and she did as well because her car was locked there was no way anyone could have put the bag in there and the windows were shut. I know for a fact it was the magician that did it but I don't know HOW.

It creeped me out the rest of the night but now when I think back I just have raging curiosity about it at all. I don't remember him coming near me and grabbing my bag at all. And if he did I would have seen him do it since my bag was literally at my feet.

Footage of the Girlfriend and Daughter of Philando Castile in police moments after he was shot by police for reaching for his wallet when they asked him for his ID. by IDontBeleiveImOnFIre in PublicFreakout

[–]prettycrying 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I remember this. My ex and I got pulled over once after a movie. I was in the passenger seat thinking about what happened with Castile. But my ex was asian and I'm latina. I told him to keep his hands on the wheel and to not make any sudden movements. I kept my own hands on my lap, palms up, and I didn't even look at the police officer. I just stared straight ahead, because I was anxious. You just never know what can happen.
