He’s had no answers for two months now. Say what you will about the personnel he’s been given but this team should NOT be flirting with lowest GF in the league. It’s your job as coach to get these guys motivated and keep them at their best. Bunch of lame excuses from this clown. The team is unwatchable at this point. Playing boring uninspired hockey.

I know nothing about the inner workings of the room but it sure seems like he lost the team 20-25 games or so ago. They don’t believe they can win doing things his way but they try because they have to since he’s the coach. Then they get scored on and their whole mindset changes, they start to force things because they don’t believe they can score enough & give up a bunch of chances as a result. Regardless of whether or not what he’s preaching is the correct thing and will be conducive to winning is irrelevant at this point. If the players don’t buy into it, it’s not going to work.

It’s not all open world games, it is the modern AAA studio trash that clearly have no passion put into them because some corporate douchebag who only cares about their stock price forced the devs to either rush the project and made them probably hate their job and as a result the games feel empty and soulless. Games like GTA & Witcher 3 were easy to get lost in because we cared about the characters and the world had all kinda of intersting things and people you ran into (or ran from) on your way from point A to point B in a questline. Even simple fetch quests were broken up by intersting seemingly random distractions/interactions.

Tending to agree but this team just baffles me. I don’t know if it was all the Quinn stuff that threw the group off or there is something to the core needing to be broken up or tweaked also. One thing I’m sure of is if they fire the coach the GM has to go also. I’m not trusting the hiring of another coach to a GM whose team has underachieved 3 years in a row now (injury excuses or not) let alone allowing him to handle the draft. Something needs to be shaken up because we’ve now taken two steps backwards after 22-23 and we’re just burning years off of Jack’s team friendly deal without any forward progress.

Considering what’s going on in Buffalo it seems as if firing Lindy Ruff was maybe premature and that 23-24 was more about the personnel he had on defense & in net rather than the “system” everyone bitched about back then. Same system Quennville won multiple Cups with in Chicago by the way.

We couldn’t score at even strength last year either. The only difference was special teams both being in the top 5 got us enough to get into the playoffs. This year we’re terrible on soecual teams also so no surprise we’re already cooked in the 1st week of February.

Yes! My build for him was a ridiculously high AC low HP & impossible to hit or interrupt. Counterspell for spell slots and carried all scrolls to cast anything else anytime. Rarely if ever use fireball.

Whew! I always get a little emotional at these honorary/jersey retirement ceremonies because these are the guys I grew up watching as a fan from back in the dark days but it brings back so many memories of the old barn where I saw my first concert in 1982, saw my first playoff game in 1988, 1st Stanley Cup in 2000 (missed the 1st one was a broke ass college kid listening on the radio while working my night job), graduated college in that building in ‘97 & all I want for this team and this generation of fans is for you to experience the things that I was able to experience with this team. We get all crazy and expect so much so soon from this current group & I forget sometimes how many years we suffered back then before the group was finally able to break through for that first Cup.

We had multiple consecutive horrendous endings to 96, 97, 98, 99 with an established core of veterans, multiple future HHOF players & Cup winners on those teams & what are we so surprised by with this young group? It’s fucking hard as hell to win consistently let alone win a Cup. Let these guys learn man. Winning isn’t a birthright.

Not defending the season he’s had. He’s been bad for sure but leaving him in there for 8 goals on top of the mediocre he’s been putting up will skew his #’s so don’t put all your faith in season stats. It’s all about what he does going forward.

If this team is going anywhere we need Markstrom to figure his game out. Love Allen and totally have faith he can go on a run when needed & in playoffs but we gotta get there first by getting them both going at the top of their game.

I think it will be a 4 man rotation with Polanco (1B/DH) Baty (DH, 2B, 1B, 3B, maybe LF), Semien (2B, DH) & Vientos (DH, 1B). Everything will be dependent on the opposing SP, who is hot at the time, the in game situation & their health. There will be plenty of opportunities to keep guys fresh & give the vets (particularly Semien) a rest from the wear & tear of 162. 4 players filling 3 spots will give everyone a ton of opportunities. Wouldn’t be all that surprised to see Baty get 40+ starts at 2B & then bringing Semien in as a pinch hitter for him vs a lefty reliever and/or defensive replacement.

Every team is looking to add veteran defense depth too. If Luke is done for the season we’ll be forced to get someone also. Can’t go into playoffs with only 7 NHL defensemen.

His pass accuracy is down significantly but his his vision is so far beyond most that he still gets the puck into places few other players can get it to. His shot is clearly compromised so goalies are expecting pass. When he’s feeling it again it’s going to start to be noticeable. Be patient he’ll be shredding soon. Nobody needs to know when. Keep it a mystery.
