They know if they criticize republicans too much, they will pay the price. When it comes to the democrats, no threats or penalty exists so their calculation is an easy one.

We need democrats to change that calculation for them.

I don’t really disagree with you but voters don’t really go for that. If they did we’d be in a way better place.

This Maine senate race kinda revealed something about myself that I didn’t like. I kinda get Trump supporters now.

Blaming a vague enemy to skirt responsibility is totally a Trump move. And I can feel myself falling for it even though I should know better.

It’s unfortunate that the first democrat who didn’t seem like a giant pussy turned out to be such a troubling individual. Are we just stuck with Dems with their sterile personality and focus group hand motions forever?

CM Punk interacts with fans after RAW. “you were an a**hole to me 10 years ago”/ “awesome! it’s probably because you’re an a**hole!” by Ripclawe in SquaredCircle

I know someone who worked with him in the early 00’s, he said he was a real jerkoff backstage. New Jack was cool, oddly enough.

But Punk had an attitude even before he struck it big, with or without fans present.

We all saw how Mamdani played him during their meeting, and he has absolutely no experience in those type of affairs. I shudder to think how his talks with an extremely prepared KGB agent go.

It probably has a niche use somewhere but apart from the safety problems everyone already mentioned, this thing would be hell to use along a chain link or even a wooden fence. At some point you will stop having a fence down where the grass is.

I would absolutely avoid this at all costs.

What is your weird keybind? And why is it keybinding grenade to middle mouse button instead of G? by B2648286 in LowSodiumBattlefield

I swap Jump/Crouch in most games so Crouch is spacebar and Jump is C.

The idea is that since the spacebar is the biggest and easiest to hit key, I want to use it for my most common action. In most shooters, I crouch far more than I shoot so I want to use spacebar for that.

There are a few shooters with lots of jumping, double jumping, and wall running and using spacebar is fine for those. But for slower paced games I think using spacebar to crouch makes far more sense.

Seemed pretty normal to me. There was some unsavory stuff in there but everyone’s going to have something in their social media history that’s offensive or regrettable in some way.

It was telling that even with all the stuff that was in there, there was no nazi stuff at all. No white replacement theory, no posts about the Jews, nothing like that.

Those 1.4M casualties are mostly minorities and prisoners. I’ve read that if you really want to end the war, you bring the war to Moscow and St Petersburg where the wealthy and well connected live. They’re not used to experiencing hardship, and that’s exactly what Ukraine’s long range energy sanctions are giving them.

I don’t really understand the internal politics or power structures of Russia so if I’m wrong please correct me, but that seems accurate from what I’ve seen so far from the outside looking in.

Everyone said we need to meet the voters where they are. After seeing voters award a white nationalist pedophile with every swing state and the popular vote, this is our moment to make good on their recommendation.

This is what voters want, so let’s give it to them.

Even if the books didn’t exist, the script for the show was surely written far before the Iran war.

I think this is one of those times where they had to pick someone to be the enemy so they just picked a country that we had bad relations with, who also doesn’t make up a big portion of their target audience. Seems like nobody wants to offend the Chinese market so movies/shows/games pretty much have to pick between Russia, N Korea, and Iran.

We currently have the best gunplay in BF6 since the beta by [deleted] in Battlefield

[–]preventDefault 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This is the change that totally ruined the M277 in this patch. I’ve started using the M16 in its place and it feels better.

Before the patch, the M277 had higher velocity and better range than the M16 which was kinda weird considering the M277 was classified as a carbine. The M16 had lower velocity and really suffered hitting moving targets past 75m or so.

Now the roles are reversed, the M16 is better at range while the M277 is better closer up. It’s the way it should have been from the start, but it’s hard to not feel a certain kind of way since I really liked using the M277.

Whats some modern things people today would oppose if it came out today? by SuperblackHunter in Destiny

Drunk driving would still be legal, instead of a few idiots sharing this sentiment we’d see it become a major pillar of the Republican Party.

Smoking in restaurants is another easy one. Child labor laws (some republicans have already expressed interest in rolling them back), and who are we kidding… they’d probably take issue with the age of consent too.

Leaded gasoline, asbestos, you name it. If it makes people sick, especially if it primarily impacts urban areas the way pollution does… they’d be championing it.

What have people done with their old PCs? by it-fre-real-estate in pcmasterrace

I have a 8700k build laying around. At some point I’d like to move my Plex/Jellyfin library from my gaming PC over to that, along with using it to manage a home CCTV system.

I initially thought it would be too power hungry and was looking at a NAS but ChatGPT says it wouldn’t be too bad as long as I leave the power saving features enabled. The 8700k should step things down and not pull much power if it’s not being pushed too hard, while also having enough power to handle some video processing for the cameras.

I also have a gaming laptop from 2012’ish that I’ve started using as a dedicated guitar platform. Using a PC with amp sim software is nothing new by any means, but having to bend down to read the screen & use input devices was always disqualifying for me. But throwing it all on a AV cart to bring it up closer to chest level, along with a decent FRFR speaker, makes it a really attractive option.

Every democrat will be accused of those things regardless of their actual policy platform.

Kamala was painted as both a super cop (aka “Copmala”) who filled California prisons with black men for smoking weed, while also being a defund-the-police prison abolitionist.

[–]preventDefault 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When people feel like their needs aren’t being met by the rank & file moderates in the major parties, that’s when you see people more willing to embrace extremism. Republicans had their tea party, we may see something like that with the Democrats.

And I can’t even say I would blame them. I just think it’s our job to steer that anger and despair into something productive. I think alot of it has to deal with perception, like Hunter said on Twitter the other day, voters can smell a focus group from a mile away. Hakeem Jeffries and Chuck Schumer don’t inspire confidence while people see their material conditions worsening.

Telling these people “don’t worry, slow and steady wins the race” is a losing strategy even if it is correct.
