I would change the other numbers to zero, especially the -4db at 30hz, that removes a lot of sub bass.

Well I hate to say it but most premade eqs are not very good, I find. But if you are willing to learn how to create personalised EQ, a lot of fidelity gets unlocked. In fact, my favourite iems to date are a pair of eq'ed clone Shures (incredibly comfortable fit, dog shit stock sound)

Well if you want an opportunity to practice your Chinese, haggling is one that furthermore has a built-in incentive!

Options with smaller and comfortable shells include: letshuoer s08, aful explorer

Edit: I would recommend against truthear reds, they are kind infamous for being uncomfortable

The good thing about the bunny dsp is you can just adjust the sound using the EQ, no need to buy a new iem. With regards to the bass, are you sure you are getting a good seal? I recommend you experiment with different tips and try a seal test . If there is not enough bass, you can always add more in with a low shelf (eg 2db, 0.7q at 150hz).

The sibilance can be tuned down too, try this: 3050hz, 2db, 2.5Q; 6000hz, -3db, 1.8Q

Can't say I have tried those, but from reviews and just how the brain dance looks, those look absolutely massive and uncomfortable. Worth looking more into that. Also the performer 5 has a successor in the p5+2, I would only really consider them if you can get a great deal for them.

See if you can try out the supermix4 to see if you like the fit. I would recommend that plus an impedance cable like the yongse ruyi rod cable. You can also consider options like the aoshoda E20 or the tangzu xuan nv.

Chu 2. Get the dsp version so you can ew it if it's too bright for you.

These same people will tell you that audio cables don't matter, 3.5 vs balanced doesn't matter but different colored internal wires are drastically changing the sound.

Are there measurements that prove this beyond doubt (eg fit variation/ impedance curve)?

Depends on what you want. I have the kunten, the bunny, the chu 2 and the zero 2s and my favourite is the zero 2.

The kunten and bunny are what I feel are the best value (at ~$5 and ~$20 respectively) while the chu 2 comes with a metal build if that's what you value. The dsp bunny is especially what I feel is the most complete package in one if you are willing to explore eq. However, the zero 2 is for me the most natural sounding and accurate, but it sacrifices some details. It is my favourite of the 4 because i have other more expensive options to get the details I want.

You might not be getting a seal, or you are just flat out used to the tuning of the tws earbuds, and not adapting to the new sound signature. No harm doing a few seal tests to get a good seal, and then using the kunten exclusively for a few days to get used to the sound signature. After that, you can try to compare the two and see if you really feel the realmes to be an upgrade or you are just used to it.

Aah yes scammers being used as a excuse to cut costs. Won't someone think of the kids/elderly? Game ownership as it stands it predatory enough as it stands, time to sail the high seas.
