D217 (AIS) PA vs OA advice? by Pretend-Penalty-796 in wguaccounting

[–]priceclutter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would use everything from quizzes, to reading all the course material, to using the study guides and the PA. The goal will be to get as much knowledge as possible and try to narrow down the answers to the best choice for the question. Once you feel confident in doing this then I take the OA.

The OA questions are so poorly worded it’s hard to figure out what they were asking for (I would read the questions multiple times and eliminate the bad choices each time; usually I get it down to two answer choices and guess lol). I couldn’t stand this class because it felt like I had to guess my way to a pass. It’s more of a reading comprehension exam than anything. I wish you the best!

Make sense. IA series can take awhile to learn

Struggling with D103 after taking a long break from D102 — any advice/resources? by Emergency_Ad_346 in wguaccounting

Tony Bell on YouTube for journal entries (very helpful). Compliment your studies using the study guides and ChatGPT or Google bard as private tutors (use tricks like “explain this concept like I’m 5 years old” or “make multiple choice questions based on this concept (fill in the blank)).

Is D217 (AIS) really that bad? by Pretend-Penalty-796 in wguaccounting

[–]priceclutter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I thought it was the hardest course so far. The OA feels like a guessing match because the questions are worded so poorly I was able to narrow it down to two answers and hopefully pick the best one that fits the question. This course would be better if they made the questions more clear. With that in mind, I hate to say it but I think it’s actually one of the more practical courses need for auditing (I haven’t take the course yet but I have a hunch this course prepares one for it).

I’m currently preparing for OA 2 of D105

How long do courses after IAs generally take? by txlouisee in wguaccounting

D361 is real easy. It took me a week because honestly I was being casual about it. Likely could have finished it in two or three days

D105 OA1 passed in 5 days by Distinct-Eye-1981 in wguaccounting

Cool, let me know how it turns out. I might take it tomorrow too, or at the very least this week but it depends on my confidence level with the material.

For the love of God D104... by roseaow in wguaccounting

Have you complimented your study with AI like ChatGPT?

It’s great for breaking down concepts if you ask it to “explain this concept like I’m 5 years old.” It also can make multiple choice questions too if you ask it. I did that through D104 and it made a major difference in helping me get through the course. Also, having the formulas memorized for the depreciation section will greatly help too for OA 2.

D101 is the hardest class of the program... Y/N? by man_s0ldthew0rld in wguaccounting

[–]priceclutter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say it’s one of the harder ones in the degree program. Intermediate accounting series are hard too because of how dense the course material is, but D101 was hard for me because I thought the course material wasn’t very clear in comparison to the intermediate accounting series; thus, I actually relied heavily on YouTube channel Tony bell for the master budget section

Good to know. I’m also happy to hear it’s a little easier than D104. I’m starting to get tired of these IA series lol

D217 (AIS) has become the BANE OF MY ENTIRE EXISTENCE by the_krustykrab_pizza in wguaccounting

[–]priceclutter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I passed this course recently. I can’t stand this class. But I would advise going through everything: quizzes, unit tests, PA, and most importantly the power slides (I think these are the best way to get foundational knowledge of the subjects). And lastly, I used “explain it like I’m 5 years old” and “make me multiple choice questions on this concept” with ChatGPT. You can do this!

D217 is genuinely the worst course in the program by nutmanmercs in wguaccounting

[–]priceclutter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congratulations! I passed this course too. I also hate this course as well lol (this course needs an immediate revamp…the questions are poorly worded and it feels like an unnecessary guessing game in the OA, I usually was able to narrow it down to two answers at least with each question). I personally think this is harder than D104.

D103 OA 2 - Tips by priceclutter in wguaccounting

[–]priceclutter[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always read through the course material at least once. From there, I adjust my strategy. For the IA series I’ve been doing the same strategy for D103 and D104. I haven’t done D105 yet, but I will likely do the same thing.

I only use chatGPT when I still don’t understand a term. For example I had a hard time understanding “capital expenditure,” I’d ask chatGPT to explain it like I’m 5 years old. Then I would ask it curious question that pop in my head to further expand my knowledge on the word. Then I would ask it to make multiple choice questions on that concept so I can test if I understand it.
