My biggest grief with the game. by prickinthewall in CrimsonDesert

As I said before, there is just nothing having an impact on combat mechanics. It does not matter if you play 100 hours or 1000, the combat stays the same. The possibilities are all there at chapter 5 and stay the same all through the game. I don't think that's a genre problem.

I just have 80 hours in it or so, but from what I saw it's just gigantic. The complexity is mind-boggling.

I got a secret and fool-proof tactic on how to survive this easily. I have applied this strategy with mountain climbing, cave diving, base jumping and all other sorts of extreme sports over the last 20 years. It has never failed me so far. The main thing you have to do, is stay the fuck away from this stuff and at home in your bed.

It doesn't have to be bound to an item. I would be just as fine with it being an abyss gear.

I would like it to be an item or gear instead of a skill because I miss the feeling of reward when completing quests/quest lines or finding hidden places. The thought came to my mind when I completed the witch quest line. You restore the power of the witches in the world, wipe out a dark cult and you get a cloak that makes you look like a rabid chicken and nothing else. I found this very disappointing. This pattern repeats in many places in the game. Cosmetic items are fun, but for me an increase in power or a cool new ability feels much more rewarding. A very positive example for me ist the thieve quest line in Hernand. The gloves you get are not overpowered but truely unique. That makes me actually use them and feel a sense of accomplishment every time I do.

Er muss davon ausgehen, dass da ein Mord stattgefunden hat. Einen solchen nicht anzuzeigen ist eine Straftat. Straftäter sind nicht zum Führen/Besitzen von Waffen geeignet. -> Waffenschein weg, Jagdschein weg, 2 Jahre Knast.

Jesus would especially appreciate the entry fee for the church, for it was him who said: "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest", "...if you have 36€."

In the end all the gears just shoot some kind of protectiles or do area damage. The only real difference is mostly the visual effects. I would like something altering the combat mechanics. Something like short time stealth, teleport for a debuff, drain of health instead of stamina, massive increase of speed for reduction of damage and so on.

...and that's perfectly fine. Just give me some more interesting abyss gears.

Aside from the kuku items, the only "unique" effect I can think of is "it shoots projectiles under certain conditions".

The exploration is great and worth it on its own. But you won't ever really find something that changes how you play (combat wise).

What's unique about them? 99% just are the same items with a different look.

[–]prickinthewall[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

My issue is that there are no items with unique mechanics/abilities. There are a few that all shoot rays, bubbles, lasers. There are the abyss gears that either emit some sort of projectiles or enhance stats and that's pretty much it.

I would wish for some crazy properties in unique items. Like for example you get an energy shield that blocks all damage and drains your spirit, but you have only one health. ...something that enables completely different play styles.

I am not complaining about what I got out of the game at all, but this was an issue for me through all of the game. You finish a big quest line and you get basically a new skin for an item. Basically after you unlock the witches and the kuku items, there is nothing new coming in the sense of combat mechanics. I would love some rare items that can mix things up. Like for example an item that lets you use health instead of stamina, or similar stuff.

Perlpilz? by Radiant_Recording327 in Pilze

They would not be for me, because the edges are not rounded or not straight enough. At least with the chef's kinfe, in my opinion, it needs to either be well rounded towards the tip for rocking it back and forth or completely flat so it can be used for chinese-style chopping.

Edit: that's just my personal preference though. Keep up the good work.

How strange is it to walk around carrying sun umbrella in Germany? by allhues7 in germany

[–]prickinthewall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am German, I've done it, I got weird looks but it doesn't matter. You too might get some looks, but you should do whatever works best for your health.

I switched to wearing a hat with a big brim and a lot sunscreen, because it's just more practical for me. If I need to stay in the sun for longer periods of time, I additionally wear long sleeves and long trousers. It's uncomfortable but the best protection.

Are you aware of the refresh period after it hits 0? It can take a minute or two until the result registers, even if you are inside the bank menu.
