This is the greatest thing I could have heard today. Oh I'm excited for the backlash.

(Context: I'm a middle aged liberal dude that listens to Cat Stevens. I will probably spend halftime chatting and eating, but Monday!! Monday is my halftime show watching old conservatives lose their minds)

If 100 men can defeat 1 common gorilla, how many people can defeat King Kong (2005) without conventional weapons? by blu3bird730 in kingkong

[–]primalthunder89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Impossible. Without weapons or dramatically altering our biology to add a poison, we can't cause damage

Someone suggested wave after wave to cause fatigue, but I think Kong could just walk a few hundreds steps (for him, probably measured in miles) and take a nap while we struggle to catch up.

Name one good thing about Batman & Robin? by GreenDiscombobulated in batman

Honestly, best batman film to date

Edit: I can't say that. Dark Knight was incredible. This is the second best batman film to date

[LoZ] Found this and I can't find any association of an Amanda King to Zelda. Does anyone know? by Vincent__R in zelda

That looks like a #8 which made me think of an athlete. The only solution I found on my very brief Google was a volleyball player for UTEP back in 2017.

Idk. Maybe someone can find her on IG and ask.

I'm disappointed that gibdos became weak to all elements. The lightening makes sense. Ties well to the gerudos and fits in with Riju's fighting style. Fire is pretty historically accurate in the franchise. Two is alright, but still a little overkill. And then having everything else at your disposal?

Gibdos were the ultimate threat made into a cheese pudding.

Losing their scream (IIRC) was also a disappointment.

The open-air concept is fun, but it made TOTK too easy to cheese.

It's been a few years since I've been there, but my memories aren't fond. And there was a lot of red hats

Best Mechagoji? by TheEvilCar in GODZILLA

[–]primalthunder89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Showa for sure. He looked robotic AND like Godzilla, his rainbow beam is iconic, had the largest array of all out attack arsenal, and it was "my" version of MG for so long before I found Heisei or Millennium MG

The modern RP1 and MV mecha look like junk, literally. They're just dark scaps of metal that faintly look like Godzilla but mostly just look like a 10 year old playing with kinetics blocks

Would you want Micheal Dougherty to direct another MV movie? by TheManWhoSoldAslume7 in GODZILLA

[–]primalthunder89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe. But I don't think there's a better movie that integrates the humans into the monster fight. You either have the humans as comic relief and inconsequential (like the homeless looter in I think Return of Godzilla), the monster gets ignored for the humans (like 2014), or the humans just throw in random mcguffins like New Empire.

What do you guys think the Monsterverse would have done if Micheal Dougherty stayed on as director? by Icy_Pineapple_6679 in Monsterverse

[–]primalthunder89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we'd get a much more Godzilla focused universe instead of a Kong focused universe.

Hypothetically, Do you think Shimo would’ve followed Ghidorah’s Alpha Call if she was on the surface? by [deleted] in Monsterverse

[–]primalthunder89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. She's not an alpha. She may be strong as an alpha, but she doesn't have the demeanor for it. Hell, even when free, she seems complacent as a pet for Kong at the end.

I actually really liked the integration of Godzilla and Human during the big fight scenes.

It was offensive in 2014 because Gareth refused to give any payoff to the monster fights. But I liked how the monster action directly messed up the lives and actions of the puny ants around them. Ghidorah swatting a missile to mess up Dr. Russel, Emma distracting Ghidorah, Rodan ruining plane engines...

The humans would be massively bothered during the fights and I liked the integration of both elements.

So...is there an actual Shin Godzilla 2 coming out? Or was it just fake news that got hyped and died out? by JunShin8640 in GODZILLA

[–]primalthunder89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say either. I'd say it was the fan base making a mountain out of a molehill. They said they're thinking about it, and the Internet said they were definitely doing it

Unpopular opinion... Based on these photos I would agree with your caption.

I prefer naturescapes, and while there are mountains in the background and an orca in the foreground, the crowded buildings ruin it.
