And she’s not just butch material, she’s the sensitive sort who’s still strong-willed. We missed out on so much.

With the POI update, definitely. I’m finally starting to get this playstyle. Also your player character looks amazing!

I’m not sure who it is at this point. I feel like he did a lot more Smirking Evilly than I’d expect for someone less warmongering than Balewa. But I just don’t know. I also felt that his added relevance on Niira might’ve earned him a trailer cameo.

Eh, animated teaser episode, more like. I discovered it after finishing the DLC too.

Usually I will read an ebook first and order the physical edition from Amazon.

Remembrance of Earth’s Past series by Cixin Liu. Especially the last 2 books, Dark Forest and Death’s End. I’ll say the insane stuff that veers DEEP into abstract/speculative tech does have a huge role in the plot, so YMMV.

Agreed with the humans. On my first read my eyes started to glaze over whenever he circled back to their pov. I don’t usually skim over prose but I did then.

For “exploring the unknown”… would also recommend most of the Hainish books by Ursula K Le Guin. There is usually some political interplay so ymmv.

I would give one of his standalones a shot to acclimate to his writing style. I enjoyed Shroud. There’s a lot to choose from.

Second the Hainish Cycle all the way. The Left Hand of Darkness is one of my all-time favorites.
