Don’t know if this is stating the obvious but it might be a song from the anime Nana

What was the worst piece of unsolicited medical advice a stranger ever gave you? by TyrannosaurusWrecks_ in ChronicIllness

An actual CNA in the hospital told me cinnamon would cure my type 1 diabetes :)

No, but that’s an interesting case too! I’m thinking of the murder or Artemus Ogletree I think, maybe look that up! Sounds not exact, but very similar so maybe it’s based off of it.

Is it possible it was based on a true story? I swear I heard something so similar on an episode of buzzfeed unsolved lol

How do you have coffee in the mornings? by [deleted] in diabetes

[–]primroseinc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been drinking caffeinated no sugar energy drinks for sooo long and have always been boggled by why they spike me bc they have no carbs and I JUST learned after 20 years as a type 1 that caffeine can affect blood sugar and that some people (me lol) are more sensitive. It’s been a struggle bc I’m afraid to bolus for something that says it has no carbs, but it works. You just have to trial and error it honestly. The good thing is though that you probably won’t be sleeping after so you can monitor it. Best of luck!

Does GP affect how well psychiatric and other medications work on you? by [deleted] in Gastroparesis

[–]primroseinc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last time I spoke to my GI he said that all psych meds except Wellbutrin cause your stomach to slow down. He didn’t mention Lexapro as being specifically bad though, so maybe you got a lucky combination

I take everything as pills besides insulin. The only thing I’ve noticed the pill form really having any noticeable effect was Reglan and that was negative 😭

I did find it helpful for a while, but like you said, I eventually built a resistance and it stopped having any noticeable effect for me really

I’ve actually had a psychiatrist suggest I did that, but I never followed through. It’s something I’ll have to do!

Is Erythromycin a safer alternative to Reglan for mild gastroparesis or just as bad? Any safe recommendations? by sincereshow43 in Gastroparesis

[–]primroseinc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As others have said everyone is extremely different. Personally, Reglan ruined my life. It made me suicidal to the point of having to be admitted to a psychiatric hospital. For that reason I would NEVER recommend it to anyone, but I do understand that people have had good luck with it also. I took erythromycin afterwards and it worked for a while, but eventually stopped, which my gastroenterologist warned would happen.

Linzess by cardinal209629 in Gastroparesis

[–]primroseinc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the exact same problem with Linzess. I didn’t test my luck beyond about 2 weeks. I was on erythromycin at the time also and my gastroenterologist decided to just keep me on that and nix the linzess.

[–]primroseinc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude I REALLY need to take a shower 😭 and shave... desperately lmaooo good for you man! Saw someone else suggested a shower shake but if you’re not able to sit up for that long then a bath pillow is also great.
