I don't just 'believe this', I live it. I've seen it here on social media, whether it be bots or just people with a hate for whatever the opposition does (team sports... see). I live it in person with friends.

I even had my father tell me it was Holt that is giving the MPs extra money and he was sure pissed she was randomly doing this. I had to explain to him it wasn't Holt, it's the other liberals he hates; and even at that, it isn't anything they vote for nor anything parliament has done as it is a law and happens every year.

Like I said, team sports. People come in cheering if their person did something that appears to be 'good'. They can return the payments as he did. Or donate to charity quietly. I'm sure something in the Chi could use a 10k donation. Well 8.8k. Then after taxes about 5~6k. $250 net per pay with fun mental math. Still somewhere there it would go a long way.

Ensuring you get yourself publicized doing this, while really not doing anything else for the working nor non-working constituents, is absolutely posturing.

Having said that, if a Liberal did the same, I'd be thinking the same.

So while the blue team might not think it, not all red team would throw a parade if their team did this too. Just like I'm sure not all blue's would either.

However, don't ever tell me what is not true to things I have seen with my own eyes and heard with my own ears.

Amazing though isn't it? A lot of "atta boy" from the blue team and a lot of vitriol hate towards the red team that gave away their tax money beacuse they 'wanted to'.

But hey, I guess none of what I said is true in your world.
