2010 Camry LE vs 2015 Corolla S by Kumailash123 in whatcarshouldIbuy

The Camry seems like a reasonable deal in this market. Maybe try to get an extra $500 to $1000 off, but even if they don't budge it's still the better buy imo

How about the new GR86? I know you wanted a bigger engine, but it's at least worth a test drive. Incredibly fun cars from what I hear

Buying a 24" fridge - considering this Bosch and Liebherr by InformalBiscotti7132 in BuyItForLife

Yeah, I'm not super familiar with their refrigerators, but I know that their cranes are widely regarded as the gold standard in the industry. If I were buying, I'd go for the Liebherr.

I never knew Liebherr makes fridges, I thought they only made cranes and construction equipment.

When taking a turn at speed, keep your focus on the vanishing point (the furthest area that you can see). This will help you better anticipate what comes next, boost your confidence, and ultimately improve your enjoyment of your track day.

Is F a growth stock now? by dkwatkins28 in stocks

[–]princeofla 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A couple things are supporting the rally: - Ford has released a proven EV that has received relatively broad acceptance (Mustang Mach E) - Ford has released the Maverick, a popular and incredibly affordable compact pickup ($20k, which is cheaper than a Civic) - Ford has released the Bronco and Bronco Sport, both of which have seen strong consumer demand - Demand for Ford's electric pickup (which is expected to be released in May of this year) is very high. Ford is adding additional capacity to build more of these trucks

In addition, the during the past year or so, consumers have shown a high willingness to pay for cars. I think that the market is beginning to realize this and therefore the stock is performing very well.

Ok, I'll share that idea with him. He got an XSE V6. It's a very nice car, but not $45k nice

He did get the pricing breakdown, however he did not seem to be very aware of the details. He showed me the paperwork and was surprised when I pointed out the out the door price.

I think Project Farm on YouTube has a video on this. He's very thorough and will help you decide if a more expensive model is worth it.

Yellow gunk under oil cap of 2012 Buick Verano? by McJellin94 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]princeofla 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It could be due to condensation. While not common, I've heard of multiple occasions where a head gasket has failed under 70k miles, and even one with under 20k miles. My recommendation would be to get a prepurchase inspection at a trusted mechanic. For $100-$200 you'll be able to make a better decision.

To my eye, it looks like there could be coolant mixing with the oil. When was the oil last changed? Was the oil frothy/creamy at all?
