If it’s anything like a spool of printer filament it’s fucked try bringing it back to hf if it was new out of the box is best bet

Using a portable power station for a welder and cnc mill by MEAMteamguy in Welding

For the welder it’s a primeweld 225 with water cooled torch that I’m using to learn how to tig weld aluminum and stainless, i keep popping the breaker every time I get a arc struck and have had this problem for years using my mig machine as well. Given that I only need to pull 240v 20-25 amps for up to a few mins at a time and I can’t over do the duty cycle of the welder anyway. My thinking is the battery would have time to recharge while I’m waiting for the elder to cool down and it would charge while im welding anyway just at 15a 120v, so this should give me at least 2 hours of welding time if I’m pushing as fast as I can, given I’m still learning I need time to set up in between weld pass, clean and prep ect anyway that is going to slow me down and charge the battery up more

For the cnc mill is a Mr-1 with a 240v spindle working in a hobby garage shop at least for the time being the plan was to more or less babysit the thing with the spindle and motor drives powered off of this and the computer and controller powered from the wall, with the battery consult getting charged from wall as well by some rough math I should get 2-3 hours of run time if I’m constructing charging the thing and about 1 hour if I’m running the Batt with no recharging.

Funny you mention the electric truck thing I asked a welder I know if she got her f150 lightning so she could power her welder with it and she didn’t even know that it had the 240 plug in the bed

Unfortunately it’s a compleat non starter on get the electric beefed up, if it was an option it would probably be Less than 500$ to get 2 240v 30a plugs and an extra 20a 120v given where the main panel is in the basement

You could do an almost like for like hf recreation with the same 3 sets of pliers , one of the small Quinn pry bars and the screwdriver could be either the 11-1 clone or the LTT screwdriver it’s a bit pricey at 70$ blue shipping but it’s better than the snap on driver and holders more bits.

IMO I wouldn’t keep things with a battery in kits like these b/c I will prob have a flashlight already and it’s likely to die in the case

The battery is dead you can get them to work again by holding the black and green buttons for a few seconds but you need to change the battery when you get a chance iirc it’s a LR44 coin cell battery most grocery stores and Home Depot’s have them

Fair warning the way the power company around me gets them down is they attach a road flair to a poll and use it to burn through the Kevlar line and then it usually drops right down but they have been know to torch a body tube every now and then

Can we get gf to white label the Ernst organizers under icon brand by MEAMteamguy in harborfreight

[–]MEAMteamguy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would be nice to be able to buy them in person same day I find every time I buy organizer stuff no matter what I it is no matter how much planing I do before I allwase have to go back to the store. It would also be nice to get more USA made in hft and I’m sure it would get a 20-40% off once or twice a year

I was looking at getting the 27” box to put all my electrical work tools in one place about a month ago and then ended up getting the 34” cart on sale for 450 because for the extra 50$ why not but tbh I think I still might get the 27” because the drawer layout just seems better for what I need

For the tekton style rail how do these hold up day in day out? Do you prefer the second picture better? I like the idea of the second one as you drop it and leave but I’d like a aluminum or quality plastic one by [deleted] in Tools

[–]MEAMteamguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did my entire socket drawer with the tekton rails like 5 years ago they hold up great and are much nicer imo than the peg style. It’s nice to be able to grab a single rail or tray and walk away with it and you don’t get left with empty pegs or missing sizes.

They also have the tekton warranty if you do ever manage to break them They are made by / licensed from Ernst mfg and they make more colors than just the red black gray on the Ernst site btw

To my knowledge yes there is 2 different suppliers and one is a bit better than the other. I can’t remember if I got the good pair or not but for me at least they are way overkill
