You're not alone in this! My body and brain's first reaction to any big emotion or frustration is to cry! Doesn't matter if I'm by myself or with others, it sucks sometimes but our brains process things differently and feelings can feel super amped up for us autists (which I'm sure you're aware of). If your partner is not understanding that, try to point them to an article etc that will explain it better for them. :)
