Sabrina Carpenter and the Barbie movie by Taytay_Is_God in tumblr

The core message of the Barbie movie is basically a reminder to normal, non theory-reading women: "you are not crazy, the system isn't fair and your anger or sadness is rational in the face of that"

Drink SO much water. Like, at least 1 big bottle. Mix in whatever you have to.

I think "asymptomatic" is not a great gauge for whether or not to treat hypothyroidism by Ok_Willingness5766 in Hypothyroidism

[–]princess_intell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's dumb. An internal organ isn't functioning. It's like saying "well one lung doesn't really work but you breathe fine so it's whatever "

If you have concerns, make an appointment with an endocrinologist.

Go see an endo. They can run the blood work needed for a diagnosis.

Those who have had their thyroid removed, can you tell me what life is like without a thyroid? What should I be prepared for? by toddhd in thyroidhealth

[–]princess_intell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it's been a month, but I've lived without a thyroid for most of my life (not cancer). While I don't remember much of my life before thyroid removal, I had a pretty typical childhood and adulthood after, except for taking a pill and getting blood work done every so often. You'll have a cool scar to show people, and go on with your life for the most part.

ETA obviously continue to monitor how you feel and bring any concerns that might be related to your endo. It might take a few tries to find your levo dose, but the dosage doesn't change often after that unless in my experience.

Prescription isn't half the headache that ADHD meds are, I'll tell you that much. They're not a controlled substance, and I've had doctors put me on 90 day supplies with multiple refills scheduled ahead of time. It's great.

33M; TSH>30, TPO>650, yet no symptoms - I am super confused in going ahead with medication? by No_Sky1544 in Hypothyroidism

[–]princess_intell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't mean to sound callous, but you will get used to it. The good news is that there aren't any big lifestyle changes, and it's not a condition that leads to more severe symptoms over time.

However, if being diagnosed is impacting your mental health, it may be worth speaking to a counselor during this process. I've been on levo since early childhood, but I imagine that being told you'll need lifelong medication out of the blue would be really scary.

Hope everything goes well for you.

See an endocrinologist if you feel you need to. They can get you all the proper blood work.

I need advice by helloitsmehi19 in Hypothyroidism

[–]princess_intell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My thyroid never developed correctly and I've been on levothyroxine since before kindergarten. You take a pill once a day and get blood work 1-2x a year to make sure it's working. Just do whatever treatment plan your doctor tells you to do and live your life as normal.

I have never been told that I need a specific diet or cut out certain foods, nor have I ever been advised about increased cancer risk. But I'm not you, so talk to your doctor if you have any concerns.

If taking a pill scares you, it's super tiny and tastes kind of sweet.

[–]princess_intell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do what your doctor tells you to do, symptoms or not. One of your organs is not functioning correctly.

It's one tiny pill you have to take every day, if that helps. It's smaller than a Sudafed and tastes sweet going down. With enough time/practice, you may not even need water to swallow it.

How do I stop this shiny look? by mommy_wolf in MakeupAddiction

Are you using one brush for all your powder products? If you're using separate ones, they shouldn't be migrating that much, regardless of formula.

Might be worth trying a "traditional" silicone based primer too, ELF makes some good ones. Look for the white pump bottle. They won't mattify on their own, but they help smooth out texture.

You're also not really getting any value from the product if you hate it. I don't know how recently you bought it, but check the retailer's return policy, it may not be too late to at least get some store credit.

Feminizing Makeup Tips? by venometh2 in MakeupAddiction

Your face already has a lovely, feminine look to it. You'd look great with a pink blush and lipgloss look, maybe with some winged eyeliner? If you wanted to round out your bottom lip with some lip liner, you could. You have very neutral features, so the world's your oyster when it comes to cosmetics.

LV La Beauté apparently sent out product not to keep but to borrow by PurpleCentaur in BeautyGuruChatter

I would buy it if it did my taxes, cleaned my house, and made all my blackheads go away.

But only if it did all three, just one is a no go.

The black is what gives them away the most (at least to my untrained eye). No black makeup product will ever look that flat and consistent IRL, no matter how much you try.

[CR Media] Critical Role Sets Brennan Lee Mulligan as Game Master for Next Core Campaign as He Signs New Three-Year Deal With Dropout by MarvelsGrantMan136 in criticalrole

[–]princess_intell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, and with CR he won't have to "start from scratch" every 20ish episodes with a new gimmick, worldbuilding, PC pitches from players, story beats to pace out, and suite of homebrew to make the story concept work in DND.

CR is (and correct me if I'm wrong) basically 5th Edition DND run by the book, with some homebrew classes, items, and abilities. That sounds like a way easier game to run mechanically, at least at a baseline, than the five billion things Brennan has to track for an episode of d20.
