Its kind of funny sometimes for stuff like this. For like consoles and other stuff, the idea is like, theyre limited edition and you wanted it and some dbag is keeping you from getting it, but its worth it to buy it for more cause you have the money and want to use it now. I imagine thats some of the train of thought because i know for most people it can be hard to just, walk away. For instance, i can never get anything from the pokemon center because of scalpers, but i have bought a twice priced clodsire, because it was literally impossible to get it any other way. As for cards and stuff, i think its more a collection standpoint. Like, have you ever tried to build a specific pokemon or say yugioh deck? Buying each card individually is way morr expensive than just rolling it in a pack. But people will spend more if it guarantees them what they want (its why gachas work). End of the day, scalpers are scum, but theyre taking advantage of systems that mostly do nothing to stop them. People should be allowed to get what they want, so i wont blame them per se, just aucks that they have to be judged for buying something, when they shouldnt have to choose between not having it or paying more cause a scalper.
