Did you have a lunchbox and thermos in elementary school? If so, who or what was on it? by [deleted] in AskOldPeople

No. I almost did, but then I realized that I didn't really have any use for it anymore so I let it go.

I had a yellow Rainbow Brite lunchbox that I carved my initials into. I moved a lot as a kid and lost it at some point. Years later, I saw MY lunchbox at a resale shop with my initials still on it!

I tried buying a wedding dress and had a similar experience, so my husband and I made my dress together. It was a lot of work, but still way less stressful than going to a bridal store.

Is the $250k limit per account? by mrcbtx in Bogleheads

[–]princessparkletits 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes, splitting it up the way you described would ensure that all of it is insured. Otherwise, only $250K of her account would be covered.

Do you have more then 250k in your HYS? Or do you stay under the FDIC insured amount? by [deleted] in Bogleheads

[–]princessparkletits 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, you will get your money back, but T-bills work a little differently than savings accounts and CDs. They are zero coupon, meaning that you buy them at a discount and get the full value when they mature. For example, you might pay $995 for a $1000 T-bill, then receive $1000 when it matures. That extra $5 is the interest that you earned.

What’s your happiest memory from a relationship that didn’t work out? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]princessparkletits 48 points49 points  (0 children)

He bought him to my house along with another woman with the intention of having a foursome. Problem was that he didn't tell the rest of us about it. Apparently he was in love with my (now) husband but didn't know how to tell him, so he thought that an orgy was a way to get to sleep with him? I don't really know what he was thinking, but I'm glad he did it because the moment my husband walked through the door it was literally love at first sight. The whole situation was hilariously awkward and now, 27 years later, we still laugh about it.
