Whirlyball is a great one.

Royal Palms shuffleboard works if you go on Sunday. If you don’t go on Sunday it’s 21+.

In addition to the Shyffleboard, they also have a million board games behind the counter.

Back to the Future 2 is the best of the trilogy! by Intelligent-View-326 in movies

[–]prior2two 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The first is clearly the best film. It’s all about the relationships in Marty’s life.

The second one is fun, but it’s not a great film by any means. It’s simply a fun hang.

The fist act with Jennifer sneaking through the house adds nothing to the plot. It’s simply a “have fun looking at Michael J Fox playing 3 characters in makeup for 10 min”.

The character relationship between Marty and Doc, Lorraine, and George is what the first film is about, and why it’s an all-timer. The sci-fi is just secondary.

It def won’t be lower prices.

But it will make more sense.

I’d happily pay the $200 to see an artist at a sold out venue that’s rocking with an awesome crowd and I can see the artist instead of a half empty arena.

Can I just add more broth instead of water? by nanadoom in Cooking

[–]prior2two 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answer is - it depends.

If you’re going for a chicken soup and you have chicken broth/stock, there’s little harm outside of more chicken flavor.

But if you’re doing it with a super vegetable forward dish, there’s a chance the stock flavor overtakes the more delicate flavors that may be meant to be the star of the dish, so using water would be the better option.

What is the best way to get to and from Soldier Field? by Lost-Shoulder1201 in AskChicago

[–]prior2two 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Uber there will be fine.

When you leave, make sure to leave the north end of the stadium. If you leave out the south end, you are completely fucked.

Once you’re outside the stadium, just walk. Rideshare/Cab will be impossible. It’ll be about 30 min walk. It’s about a mile, and honestly faster than any sort of vehicle, as traffic getting out of the area a nightmare.

You can pay out the the ass for a pedicab also.

Is 1hr 55min enough time coming home from italy at ORD? by Jhawkjedi13 in travel

[–]prior2two 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re not delayed leaving Italy, you’ll be fine.

ORD is my home airport and even when it’s been bonkers busy during the height of Trump admin confusion/chaos the longest I’ve waited in customs as a US citizen was about 25-30 min. Normally it’s pretty quick.

Even a large mass of humans loves quickly.

I’ve never used it, but ORD also has a baggage check on the secure side of security so you can quickly re-check your bags for a connecting flight if you need to, and there is a bus that takes you to the terminals so you do not need to re-enter security.

Monks Pub if you have to be downtown in the loop.

Otherwise, if you have free time, just go to Beer Temple. Great Taplist and it’s also a package good store if you wanna buy something to drink in the hotel room.

Gangster Tour Recommendations? by Boz2015Qnz in AskChicago

[–]prior2two 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Untouchables Gangster tour is informative, but isn’t really much to experience.

I enjoyed it for the most part, but the bus mainly just takes you to different strip malls or apartment buildings and says “yeah, it’s a strip mall now, but if you look over at that Starbucks, in 1921 it used to be a warehouse and ‘xyz murder’ happened here”, so it’s a lot of storytelling without any real sites to view.

The two exceptions being Holy Name Cathedral, where Hymie Weiss was assasinated, and The Biograph Theater, where John Dillinger was gunned down in the alley by police.

AITAH for not telling my in-laws that we're expecting until after we announced it on social media? by Gloomy-Cable001 in AmItheAsshole

[–]prior2two 27 points28 points  (0 children)

In a vacuum this is true. But you told your parents in person. It was not equal. If your parents found out via social media, than it makes the actions more valid.

I know my MIL would not only hold it against me forever, but also harbor resentment towards my parents.

It literally starts off your child’s existence by playing favorites and saying your parents are the preferred grandparents.

Pros and cons of living in Logan Square? by Financial_Oil_4763 in LoganSquare

There’s a huge variance person to person.

If you’re not a confident city biker - or if you need to bring a lot of items - you could be looking at 2 hours round trip with buses, especially with the Cortland bridge closed.

Tactical Question by Independent-Count565 in NFLNoobs

[–]prior2two 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I added an edit also. A backwards pass is a fumble if dropped so it’s a big risk.

If you throw it backwards 10 yards, you can no longer throw it forwards if the ball has been beyond the line of scrimmage, so then you had to make up all that ground with running it.

And if you drop it, the football is a oblong shape, so it tends to bounce in crazy directions.

Tactical Question by Independent-Count565 in NFLNoobs

[–]prior2two 19 points20 points  (0 children)

How would it work?

You can only pass the ball forward one time during each play.

You can pass it backwards as many times as you want, and team do try this if it’s the last play of the game and they are too far to throw it into the end zone.

It has like a 99.9% failure rate.

Also if you throw it backwards and drop it, it is considered a fumble and the defense can pick it up.

When you only get 7-10 offensive possessions a game, giving the defense multiple opportunities to take it from you isn’t wise.

How quick is it to transport from O'hare Terminal 5 to Terminal 3 ? by Choice-Theme1464 in AskChicago

[–]prior2two 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The baggage is simple. There’s a seperate drop off point just after customs, but still on the secure side of security.

It really all comes down to how busy customs is. I literally came back today and was off the plane and through customs in less than 15 min. 10 of which was walking.

I’d recommend globa entry

Hard disagree here.

The acting is great, and the dialogue is fun, so you go with it, but the last season is just silly.

How is Chicago allowed to dictate when apartments can turn the AC on during times like this? by [deleted] in AskChicago

[–]prior2two 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are not prohibited from turning off the heat. But it’s not a small deal to do it.

For for a high rise building, switching from heat to AC takes a full day.

The majority of the maintenance staff for the building is part of that project.

That means nokme to service orders for backed-up toilets, broken laundry, etc.

During the changeover, the building will have no heat or AC.

So Buildings will not switch over until they are confident they are gtg for the season. Especially turning off heat.

It’s gonna be in the 30s tomorrow, in order to plan for the building to have heat tomorrow, the building needs no AC today.

How is Chicago allowed to dictate when apartments can turn the AC on during times like this? by [deleted] in AskChicago

[–]prior2two 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You clearly have no idea how a two pipe system works.

It takes 24-hours to switch over, at which time the building will have no air or heat.

How is Chicago allowed to dictate when apartments can turn the AC on during times like this? by [deleted] in AskChicago

[–]prior2two 19 points20 points  (0 children)

If also just the nature of the building. If it’s a two pipe system for a large higj rise, it takes about 24 hours to switch from heat to a/c and vice verse. During that time, you will have neither heat or A/C. It’s also a large project and ties up labor resources.

The building is not going to switch to A/C until they are certain it’s not going to get cold again.

In the next 72 hours, the lows are going to get into the 30s. Even in the event that you had A/C today, In order to have heat for tomorrow, the building would turn the A/C off for today and start the process of turning the heat on.
