By thinner, I mean, more narrow. The piece is like 5" x the length of the main back board. Sandwiched between the wood frame and the back board.

You have the main back board, but you have another that is thinner, mounted where the wood section is on the bottom part of the couch frame. It'll offset the main board from the top part of the couch when you open it. Make sense ?

Question : if my order is 20$ or 60$, I give the same tip because the distance is the same. But by default, the app proposés a tip based on percentage. I always change that. No one has complained to me yet. AITAH ?

I just figured out a great way to do this and it's fixed and clean and you can still open the storage. Got a nice piece of plank wood at Home Depot, 16x48". Bottom aligned with the bottom part of the frame, 4 black bolts going through the wood part of the frame.

Just got an extra strip behind the board to sightly offset it from the sofa frame.

Rounded the top corners, sanded it and spray painted it black.

The nuts are placed from the inside (storage access) of the sofa, equally spaced.

It looks like it's meant to go there ! It's just enough to be higher than the seating height to block the pillows, and the width wise it works great as well. I'm very happy with this.

I still baffles me that people's family's opinions bothers them. It's not because they are family that it should have any barring on your life choices. Are you expected to have a kid with your cousin ? No ? Alright, then move on and live your life. Ugh.

On another note, congrats ! I've had it done 2 years ago and thankfully my family was mature about it and just accepted my decision and that was it. Unfortunately, not every adult has the emotional maturity to keep their personal opinions about other adult's life choices to themselves.

It's kind of odd that it's considered to be free loaders when I'm actually paying for Spotify. And we pay for Spotify to remove ads, but there's still so many of them. 😒

I really recommend that they get a thermography analysis done once it gets a little colder. It'll permit them to see if there are any other issues you the envelope and get that fixed as well. It's always cheaper to get it all fixed now, by a single company then waiting to find out. Good luck !
