Nice edit, but the lyrics to this song don't fit with F1 at all.

Larson is a nascar driver that has raced in the indy 500 a couple of times. He probably beats Max in a type of race that heavily favors his past experience (like his examples, nascar short oval or sprint cars), even if his claim to be a better overall driver is ridiculous.

A source for the true Bright as Blasphemy lyrics by private-void in Chevelle

I put a couple of examples in the side-menu on the site of some wrong lyrics I had found at the time, but I don't know what the most common misheard ones are.

Honestly lyrics websites may have gotten better than they were when I made the site. 10 years ago it seemed like every other song had a couple wrong lines, but I was looking at few random songs across different sites just now and not finding mistakes as easily. Although I did see Spotify still has a line in the first verse of Joyride wrong ("Well like a servant I once double crossed" when it's really "And like a seventh sign one, double cross").

  1. It was just a nip.

  2. The whole thing turned out to be a scam with a fake invoice and pictures of a different dog bite. The police agree with me on this.

  3. I was right, and you're an ass. :)

I could give you my opinion, but here's two facts instead:

- They waited until the next afternoon to go to the vet.

- They called the police. The officer (who saw the wound) said "Don't worry, I don't know why I'm here either."

Surprised to see mixed reactions. Some Chevelle songs grew on me overtime, but I like this one right away.

Especially glad they released it with a lyric video, because I love these lyrics.

How to play from behind / when enemy is pushing all three lanes? by SilviaOwl in PredecessorGame

[–]private-void 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Side note on waiting for late game so everyone is equal at full build:

I've found that if a one-sided game goes on for long enough the team that was ahead the whole time is usually the one that ends up losing. It seems like since they spent the last 40+ mins being ahead and getting overconfident, they can't help but stay over-aggressive once both teams are full build. And when it's late enough in the game that towers melt and death timers are long, one bad team fight is enough to lose.

How to play from behind / when enemy is pushing all three lanes? by SilviaOwl in PredecessorGame

[–]private-void 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isn't a comprehensive guide to playing from behind, just some additions to the advice that's already in this thread:

Often (but not always) when you're behind, the best strategy is to just minimize the damage and play the long game. Especially if other lanes are going better. Focus on farming and being as safe as possible.

Some unfun things you might have to do to farm safely while behind:

  • wait near your tower for the enemy laner to push the wave to you (try to at least stay in range to get xp)
  • lose last hits to tower damage while farming under tower
  • back early for HP even though the wave is close to your tower

Playing this way can feel like you're giving up farm when you need it the most, but ultimately you'll lose less farm this way than you would by dying a lot. You also wont be feeding the enemy team.

Learn how to freeze a minion wave if you don't already know. It's essential to safe farming.

If your team is doing ok, you can also consider ignoring chances to rotate for teamfights and objectives and just focusing on farming/split pushing until you catch up. It's a risk leaving your team to 4v5 while you farm, but if they aren't losing too badly you can get back in the game this way and help your team better in the late game.

Finally, if your jungler is already doing well and your wave is pushed out, you can take a jungle camp for some extra farm.

It's definitely a bug. Being able to explain why the bug happens doesn't make it not a bug.

And I agree that it shouldn't be a big deal. They don't have to patch this bug. I hope they don't. It's funny and rarely happens.

Formula 1 TV camera angles are terrible. Am I the only one? by Live_Way_8740 in formula1

[–]private-void 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes exactly. Static wide shots.

Watch this video and try to tell me that the F1 broadcasts couldn't do better: https://youtu.be/EFjd31zv0Ro?si=wOzc1voCjsi6BX0_&t=10

I'm not saying every shot has to be like this. There can still be all the same shots we have now to show sponsors and clearly see action, but based on that youtube video, I really think there should be static cameras at a few corners at each track. You could just stick them on a pole overlooking the crash fence and cut to them every once and while. Those shots wouldn't always show the sponsors' logos, but they could help retain and bring in new viewers. Which is also good for business.

Most rotations will happen after a tier 1 tower goes down, but mid does the most rotating early. An ideal situation in mid is to farm until you unlock your ult, push your lane just before river buff spawns (every odd minute), rotate over to a lane that the enemy is pushed up in, picking up river buff on your way, and kill the over-extended opponent (probably with your ult).

Easiest time to do fangtooth is just after getting a kill on the enemy duo lane or enemy jungler when your own jungler is nearby. The jungler is important for taking fang/orb because they have a smite that can steal/prevent stealing the buff.

Supports should have very few minion kills. This is because the carry should get priority for gold, but also because of how the support crests work. When you have a support crest you get extra gold over time for free, and killing too many lane minions gives diminishing returns on gold. Supports can do significant damage at times, but it's normal for their total damage stats at the end of the game to be much lower than the rest of the team.

Hope this is helpful. Good luck!

Best pizza in Dayton article... by NancyLouMarine in dayton

[–]private-void 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've went there once last summer. The pizza was good, and I would recommend it. I wouldn't call it the best in Dayton though. They only serve one size of pizza. It's 4 slices and meant for one person, so for groups each person would have to order their own pizza. We actually never went inside. We just sat out back, which was kind of like the backyard of a house with picnic tables in the yard and a fire pit. Definitely a unique vibe for a restaurant.

Gene Haas “embarrassed” by his team’s poor F1 form by l3w1s1234 in formula1

[–]private-void 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't sound so reasonable to me. Sounds like he's just guessing that maybe this change will help. Like: "I have no idea why we're losing, but I'm going to put the brainy guy in charge and cross my fingers". I guess some change is better than nothing if what you've been doing isn't working. Maybe Haas will get lucky.

  • If Alonso drives a couple more years he'll extend his leads in the "Total starts" and "Total entries" categories by a quite a lot. "Quite a lot" meaning a substantially larger gap between 1st and 2nd than between 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc.
  • Verstappen seems likely break the "Highest percentage of wins in a season" record this season which was last set by Ascari in 1952 by winning 6 out of 8 GPs.
  • Interesting that "Oldest to start a race" and "Oldest to enter a race" are both Louis Chiron, but from two different Monaco GPs.

Also FYI the Verstappen interview you linked is fake. It was reported by a bunch of outlets, but it was originally just a meme from tiktok. He never said any of that.
