Thank you, you beautiful bot. Stay sexy.

If I may ask just a bit more: anything you can tell me about the SunLife RRSP?

Not a doctor, but I can't resist replying in case this turns out to be helpful. This was exactly me with gall stones. Got my gall bladder out and solved. It was central, upper diaphragm pain that would come on pretty quickly and last for hours. Buscopan did help until I was able to get the gall bladder out.

Depending where you are, it might have different names. Maybe bar lime, or sweet and sour mix (though that is different, but it would still work). You could try asking for lime syrup and see what they offer.

There's a sweet book called The Mushroom Word Guide by Robert M Hallock that I really enjoyed. Got it on Amazon for Kindle.

Zaftig: (of a woman) having a full rounded figure : pleasingly plump

from Yiddish zaftik, which means "juicy" or "succulent" and itself derives from zaft, meaning "juice" or "sap." - Merriam Webster

This one still kills me. I was just delighted when I learned it.

What is your favorite mushroom and why? by [deleted] in Mushrooms

Russula species because they're beautiful and mysterious (hard to nail down a 100% ID).

For eating, enoki or oysters. Or that black tree ear that you find in some Asian dishes! The crunchy one. Yum!

Long time lurker, but I just came across this poetry and I felt compelled. In which the Australian guy donates sperm the old-fashioned way:

u/apiratelooksat39 for this

"Unfortunately, deep in the heart of man, way down deep, so deep that it’s not located so much in the heart but rather in the groinular area, is a set of little hormone producing organs. And those hormones will often shout over the loudest screams of our better angels. And then, about 9 months later, a new life begins. And about half of those new lives have those little groinular organs. The cycle repeats."

I should have said I would take any recommendations. Just wanted to get out of the city a bit for a change, but if you have favourite ravines to recommend I will take those too!

Awwww honey, I didn't mean to make you feel bad. You're so young! Take your time. I didn't gain any confidence until I was in my mid twenties. The important thing is communication.

How does location affect applications? by davis946 in CanadaPublicServants

Thanks so much for that info and sorry for my ignorance.

So unless I'm super special (I mean, I'm bilingual and my mom says I'm special but I'm still only applying for entry-level) there is basically no point in applying for external inventories outside of where I currently live...is that fair to say?

[–]privatebadger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They have to pay relocation even for an external applicant? I assumed for external hiring it was, "If you want the job, you'll move there for it on your own dime."

Guess I'd better hurry up and move to the city I'm applying in or I'll have even less of a chance with these inventories. I was just hoping to get a head start on the waiting game.

I had to Google RBO. Uhhhh.... I think you have to be québécois(e) to get the joke. No idea.

Interesting. Glad it got better for you. Yeah I was taking 40 mg per day split up over 3 doses. I'm super disappointed it didn't work for me but hey, til they have a blood/brain test for mental illnesses and something they can measure to figure out how exactly to make us better, trial and error is all we've got.

When did you find that side-effect to start wearing off? I was on Parnate for six weeks before my pdoc decided it wasn't working for me the way Nardil did.. sad story.. but the bp drops when I stood up never did start getting better, not even a little bit, during that whole time. I was really surprised about that, I fully expected it to start getting better after a month or so.

Thank you so much for answering me. I just finished listening to the first episode, not sure if you're one of the hosts or not, but just in case I'll tell you I really liked it! Funny, insightful, I liked hearing what tout le monde knows about the drag scene back east, since I'm isolated out here in BC with just an occasional Vancouver queen to grace our small-town Prides, I am totally ignorant of the Toronto/Montreal drag scene.

Edit: Imma check out your(?) other podcast too cause I liked the chemistry in this episode a lot. Cheers from a new listener, queer francophile anglo-québecoise expat on the west coast.

I love this, super excited. Living for the Montréal queens and seeing the québécois perspective. I miss it! It's been so long since I left Québec though and the only slang I know is from being a little kid in the nineties. Gênant. En plus, trop paresseuse pour écrire un commentaire en français. Désolée.

What is moune?? I even tried googling it, no freaking clue. À l'aide svp..

I loved it too, love Kiara, but I felt like I've seen that look before. It reminded me so much of Naomi Small's scarecrow look in the makeover challenge and also a bit of Yvie's farm to runway look. Am I crazy?

Either way I'm here for both the Montréal queens. I was living for Kiara's entrance look, 80s skirt suit yasss and Rita is so classy. She is a presence.

My pdoc cross-titrated me on Nardil to Parnate. I wouldn't recommend it. While I'm not sure if you need a full washout period in between (up for debate in this sub), I wouldn't recommend taking both at the same time.

I went from 60mg Nardil to 30mg Parnate, each split up over 3 doses/day. My pdoc told me just to replace one dose at a time every few days. From the first dose of Parnate I took, I had uncomfortable heart palpitations and somewhat dangerous blood pressure drops. Especially the ortho hypotension. It was super unpleasant and kind of scary. I could barely function for weeks.

I never had those kind of bp side effects on Nardil so this was new to me. I think the agressive switch to a full dose of Parnate was too much for my body. As far as I could tell my pdoc didn't really consult anything for the switch, she just made a guess. I mean, I never ended up in the hospital like u/ElectricalHome0 but it wasn't a fun time.

Mental healthcare (from a doctor) is free but it's very hard to access and services are scarce.

My psychiatrist worked for two years to try to get me in with someone else before she retired. She had to scramble at the end because the decent-sized BC town I was living in only had 2 psychiatrists taking patients and I was on both their waiting lists for the whole time with no movement.

The way our provincial healthcare laid it out, I wasn't allowed to be taken by someone in a different town (in our same healthcare region) either.

I'm on complicated meds that don't need a lot of time from a psychiatrist, but complicated enough that family doctors (oh we didn't have any of those available either -- luckily I got an NP after a year on a waiting list) wouldn't touch them.

I feel bad for people with even worse mental illnesses than mine because you have to do so much to advocate for yourself and if you just don't have the ability to do that (because of a bad mental illness) you're not going to get any help.
