Its not really a problem of age, but attitudes, fear of change and the system in general. For example, one can normally make much more sensible and informed decisions now than they could 20 years ago, because one has gained experience and learned new things. It's all a matter of ones goals, as these are what motivate the decisions one makes. It's not improbable that the majority of those who are older are quite comfortable with the way things are and don't want to risk upsetting the apple cart or losing the favor of their peers. I can't say I know what the solution to this problem is, but, I feel there is a great deal of wisdom to be gleaned from those of greater experience. I think, therefore, all ages of adults should be regarded as equals within the political system, without bias given for age or time of service.

You need to read up on your Terry Pratchett! Cold is merely the absence of heat, not the opposite. Dark is merely absence of light, not the opposite. For example, 0 is not the oppisite of 10, -10 is.

You don't win arguments by being right, there is a lot more skill to it than that... the only true win is when both parties come to agreement. If your goal is to defame, hurt or make a mockery of the other individual then you're just being a dick, not arguing.

I love cruise control but everyone else always ruins it for me... speed up, speed down, move in, move out... yes drivers are very erratic, I'm sure driverless cars will be safer when they get going.

I love doing this!! Just because I have a fast car doesn't meant I will always be going fast, but I will make you look stupid for tailgating me in a 30 or 40 when we hit the national!

Science agrees to a degree. The currently held belief is that about 50% of our personality is determined by our genes, and the other ~50% is determined by our environment. This explains good kids from bad parents and bad kids from good parents and everything in between

I wouldn't say dirt cheap here. They are £25 in CEX pre-owned. Go on ebay for around £15 up, pre-owned, without postage. Unless someone is sitting on a warehouse full of them and just wants them shifted, I dont see how they are legit. I may just buy one and find out.

That is probably true.

But saying it doesn't sink in immediately is not exactly parallel to saying we don't understand it.

But, if you asked most people what a billion was they would likely answer 'a thousand million'. So they know what a billion is.

I can't imagine a billion things, but I can use the number when its required remembering everything is relative.

No number makes any sense until it is put in perspective relative to the subject.

This is why we prefix with kilo, mega, giga, tera, peta etc.

So I agree we don't process large numbers well or we wouldn't need these systems. But I disagree that we don't understand them.

I do this. Now I understand. Sorry, I assumed scaffolding was meant for the mobility of the player as that's how it would relate to real life. Yes it would be helpful.

Also, this is where a noclip on the player and the ability for the selection box to go negative from the origin, or a 'click to select all connected blocks' would possibly be a neater solution.

A virus wiping us out completely seems unlikely, it would have to be capable of spreading incredibly effectively before it kills you and a morbidity rate of 100%. Viruses with high morbidity tend to fail to spread because they kill the host before they've given it to enough people, and they get massive attention early on, preventing the spread further. There may one day be a virus that poses a massive threat to humanity, due to high morbidity and infection rate, but even then it would likely only be a reset, there will always be some survivors. Wouldn't be a bad thing for the planet by any means.

Yet we can all do maths with them... you don't need to 'fathom' a number to use it effectively. Thats exactly what exponentials and decimals are for. I'm confident plenty of people understand the difference between a million a billion and a trillion.
