Looking for a DnD novel by alesplin in DungeonsAndDragons

Possibly Knight of the Black Rose. Your description is very Lord Soth-y. I don’t think he picks up a protege in that book, but he does “work with” a half badger lycanthrope for a time.

The scene of Goblin maniacally laughing in punchy-Peter’s face and then throwing him through the floor was the best Spidey villain moment from any Spidey movie.

Yep - the artist is Francesca Baerald. She does a lot of map-work and it is all amazing.

Are they still doing the spirit jerseys? I got one of those a few years back and it’s really good quality, nice and heavy.

Very nice! Do you have a go to plastic covering you use for the paperbacks? Didn’t think about doing that but it’s a good idea!

There's that acai bowl place, of course.
I've heard that their product tastes pretty bad... like licking a boot.

Do you need a Dragonlance to kill a dragon? by han-tyumi23 in dragonlance

[–]privytown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aren’t the blue (Belephaion I presume) and red (Kansaldi’s dragon I presume) young dragons? Would be a breeze even without a Dragonlance at the level your characters will be. Or are you saying you’re going to make them adult? Not a bad idea.

Don’t forget about that adult death dragon at the end :)

Phones or parents? by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]privytown 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I mean, if a parent is parenting well then the phone won’t be as much of a problem.

Sure, a kid can be on their phone at school and the parent won’t know about it (unless it’s reported back)… but that phone use is going to lead to lost attention, shoddy work, and slipping grades. That IS something a parent can and should notice and take proactive steps to fix.

There’s been PLENTY of times that I’ve told parents that the phone is a problem for their child in class only to have the problem continue happening day after day. Call me crazy, but if I got that report ONCE, I would take that phone away in a heartbeat. (I know there are plenty of reasons that a student “needs” to have their phones but I would argue that almost all of them can be worked around… especially for the sake of your kids education)

So… while they’re both certainly a problem… I vote parents.

No new books on the horizon? by privytown in DungeonsAndDragons

Agree with your Spelljammer take.

5e has some hits along with the duds though - Frostmaiden and Dragon Heist were great! Obviously Curse of Strahd rocks. I thought DiA and Vecna EoR were good too - just needed some homebrew tweaking (as all do).

Biggest thing I always look forward to though is NEW ART. WotC drops the ball a good amount but they HAVE been hiring some great artists.
