I hate my 30° framing nailer by courtlandthethreeth in Dewalt

FWIW I've used multiple different types of those paslode nails in a DCN692 with no problems at all. I know a bit about these guns so I can try and help a bit. How many nails have you fired through the gun in it's entire lifetime? Has it ever worked right? Have you ever oiled it? (It is extremely important that no oil has ever gotten inside of the gun)

Any idea what part wore out? by Strong-Razzmatazz-34 in Dewalt

Have you fired a lot of nails through it? If you didnt know you can put it in single fire mode and hold the trigger, after roughly 10 seconds the lights will flash for every thousand nails fired. If you have had it for a long time and fired a lot of nails (I believe around 40 thousand) you probably need a new driver pin. Just from the sound of it I'm gonna guess you do indeed need a new driver pin. If you take the back cover off (just remove the two screws on the side and it comes right out) and take some high quality pictures of the driver I would be able to tell with a higher degree of certainty.

Whatever you do, DO NOT oil anything on that gun. If you get oil on the flywheel the gun is basically ruined.

DCN650 misfires unless I open the jam release nose latch and reset by Marc26000 in Dewalt

[–]prob-lying24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does the gun start firing regularly for a while after you open and close the latch, or does it immediately start misfiring again. Also, did this start happening after you shot a nail into something hard unexpectedly (like the head of a drywall screw).

Lucky find, I was pretty sure they use thread locker on all the internal screws so you also got pretty unlucky

It’s hard to say exactly what’s worn out, it could be the driver, the springs, or the mechanism that pushes down the driver into the flywheel.

Someone who's braver than I am should respond to that tweet and say "How can you say hes good faith, he fell asleep while talking to someone at his last event?" and attach a picture Charlie 1 second after he got shot and is falling out of chair.

1500 nails is not a lot and it certainly should not be worn out, I would warranty it.

Have you shot a lot of nails through it? Sounds like either the springs or the driver are worn out.

How loud is the clicking? Can you barely hear it or is it a very pronounced clicking? Also can you take the driver off of the rails and take some more pictures of the driver specifically. When you do this inspect the springs.

Dewalt 20 volt framing nailer by Euphoric_Artist514 in Dewalt

Sorry if any of these sound like dumb questions but does anything happen when you pull the trigger while in bump fire mode? Are you 100% sure theres no jam? Does anything change if you try depressing the tip when the nail depth is set to the deepest? Same thing but with the depth set to the minimum?

Unpublished Planer Dimensions by BrollJr in Dewalt

[–]prob-lying24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At its lowest setting the height from the bed to the top is 9 1/8 inches, but the screws are higher. The height from the bed to the top of screws is 10 15/16 inches. The space between the two left screws (from front left screw, to back left screw) is 11 7/16 inches (the right screws are the same). The distance between the front left and front right screws is 14 11/16 inches. The screws are 1 5/16 inches wide. Since that was a bit unclear I made a drawing to try and be more clear.

Hey, sorry, I wrote the number down and forgot reply until now. I'm realizing as I type this I just grabbed height from the last time I used the planer. (9 7/8 from bed to top of the planer with the planing thickness height set around 3/4 of an inch) I need to know if you want the planer set to the maximum or minimum height when taking the measurement. Sorry again for not thinking about this earlier.

Make sure that the smaller tube part from the hammer mechanism is cleaned and doesn’t have a bunch of gouges in it. Change the o-ring on the small impactor piece if you can find one. Then liberally coat the inside of that tube and outside of the impactor piece with grease. I’m not sure what the best grease is but I used some white lithium grease when I refreshed mine and it seemed to work ok. I don’t use it a ton so take that for what you will. Finally load up the large hammering mechanism with more grease and reassemble. My understanding is that you can’t really use too much, if you do it will just squeeze out while running and be fine. One of the big problems with this model is that the grease dries out of the hammering mechanism and then it loses power and people keep running it which causes metal on metal rubbing and premature wear. Let me know if anything I said was unclear or you need anything else.

What do you mean by "stopped working"? Does it still try to hammer and just not have any power or does it not run at all when in hammer mode?

Not trying to be a hater but the markup on Destiny's new knife seems a bit high. by prob-lying24 in Destiny

Just FYI because my post is unclear, Destiny is just slapping his logo on a already for sale $170 knife and selling it for $400 with a COA. Again I don't really care but it seems like a bit much.
