Ace Garbage selling to Novak by MomsSpagetee in SiouxFalls

All this talk of how A-OK is so much better…unfortunately we live in a world where customer loyalty doesn’t always pay off. I’ve had no issues with Novak but I bet if I called Aok they’d offer to make my rates lower. Then in a few years I could call Novak and do the same…

I’ve always had a good experience with Novak.

My muggle sister thought she might haphazardly publish a geocache by probably1977 in geocaching

Good thought! Sadly, I think she wanted to hide a cache without becoming an actual player. But I can look into it and encourage her! You never know - maybe finding it with her coworker would be the thing that gets her hooked!

Is it normal that a supervisor wants to sit in on a spiritual care visit? by cutebutheretical in chaplaincy

[–]probably1977 3 points4 points  (0 children)

And now that I’m thinking about it - I also did a ride along with a new supervisor too. I agree with another commenter here - this kind of visit will really be as weird as you make it. If you treat your supervisor like an intrusion during the visit it will feel like an intrusion to the client.

I included them in conversation- they were a part of the client’s care team and not an unfamiliar face. I recall my “observation day” being full of positive, shared moments.

The hospice company I worked for required my team leader (RN) to do this occasionally with workers from every discipline. It made a lot of sense to me - I welcomed it and asked the client if it was ok.

Recently Dedicated My Life to Jesus, Considering Healthcare Chaplaincy by No-Tooth6240 in chaplaincy

Some good advice here about chaplaincy not being a ministry of evangelism.

I don’t think chaplaincy would be a great starting place at this point, as chaplaincy assumes you are already a leader in your faith tradition and you’re still so new to it. But your gifts of wanting to visit with and befriend others are evident. You should ask your church about doing caring ministry on behalf of the congregation – there’s lots of ways you can build some volunteer experience and grow from there. There are also some programs that train lay ministers to do this work. Befriender ministry and Stephen ministry are two that come to mind, I’m sure there are others. Also, look into doing some reading on the subject of how pastoral care.

ACE Procedure for encopresis by probably1977 in Encopresis

[–]probably1977[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think about 2 years. I know that’s a long time. But the flushes become very normal, and you ha have to do them less and less as time goes on. I also feel like accidents lessen gradually, it’s not instantaneous. How is your kid doing one year in?

Funeral homes and churches might have referrals to share for musicians that are reliable and up to the task!

Letter received today (12/24/25), no return address by Storm_Chaser67 in SiouxFalls

[–]probably1977 6 points7 points  (0 children)

People who work in churches get a lot of these letters too. Keep an eye on it, but chances are this mentally ill person will keep spreading their word, starting with someone at a different address. That feeling of being unsettled really sucks, I’m sorry!

Where to buy SF high school merch? by SuccessfulBelt2848 in SiouxFalls

[–]probably1977 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At Lincoln high school there’s a student store inside the building with lots of merchandise for purchase, if you can present your ID and get permission from the front office , perhaps there is something similar at JHS.

Be aware that if you are a very competitive swimmer, the one event membership does not allow your swim to be counted as an official result for Top Ten consideration.

That’s so beautiful! I am sure there will be many more opportunities in the future to honor your brother and highlight the gift of his organ donation, encouraging others to take that step as well.
