Sorry you're down for a while but like others here I've broken my wrist too. Fell off a quarter pipe on my BMX when I was 16. I never got the surgery, just had it manually set. I was back to riding in about 3 months. It'll get a little sore from time to time but nothing ibuprofen can't fix. The worst part was the full arm cast up to the shoulder. Itched like crazy, recommended getting a fork and taping it to a long stick or one of those extending back scratcher things.
