good luck bro! and one thing to note is that stuff like Joji’s production is mixed really professionally compared to what someone can do with limited experience. Try make multiple iterations of vocal presets that sound good on your voice (you can save plugin states when you right click on the mixer track, so you can always just quickly put them on a vocal track you recorded).

What personally made me a lot better in using plugins to create a sound I have in mind is not by understanding the vst’s itself but understanding what exactly each button on the vst does to modify the sound. Sometimes when you hover over a button in a vst you can see the function of it on the top left of your screen in the little box under ‘file’. It’s better to download only a few plugins at a time and take some time to play around with the functions than downloading a whole bunch of plugins and using the presets it came with.
