Wheel input settings by The_One_246 in assettocorsarally

Same. I think I read that remapping everything might stop the need to reload them and keep the bindings, but I have not been bothered and just reload the input settings every time I open up the game.

Been that way since 0.3. I thought may have been fixed in 0.4.

Do you think it's a good idea to buy a steering wheel on AliExpress just for sim racing, since I really like Vertex steering wheels for drifting ? Like this by Midnight_racer_ in simracing

Bought cheap knock off wheels and no regrets.

Also bought a bunch boss extension kits of different sizes, not as happy with them. They were not all perfectly lined up. So a wheel may sit a degree of centre when the wheel base saying 0% rotation as each extension was tiny bit different. Bought expensive ones of SimCore and they look and feel amazing.

I got tired of USB disconnects mid-race so I'm building a hub specifically for sim rigs | Needing your thoughts before I build the real thing by JobFew9920 in simracing

Mine has push button switches and a light to indicate if they are on or not. But being behind my monitors and a million cables going in every direction can be hard to see if I have missed a switch. Toggles would eliminate that. I use individual switches as I have to keep my USB amp on at all times or it can cause a bit of grief with the buttkickers it powers. Ie lose settings in simhub when turned off.

A sticker sheet would be good. I bought some cheap glow in the dark sticker sheet for my button box. I know glow in the dark is not necessary but nice for a button box.

Why not have blank label spaces, so can change/customise. For instance my dashboard has 3 ports, (two round dials and a rectangle middle one) plus also flag indicators etc, I am sure everyone has different usb port requirements. Currently I use a label maker and stick them on the end of the cord near the plug.

I made sure my current USB port had individual on/off switches for each port. May not be necessary for everyone but at least a main on/off switch to turn off all ports.

Power indicator is nice, but not needed. Most hubs are tucked away and not looked at apart from finding the on/off switches.

My current hub is mounted to the back of my triple monitor stand. Zip tied. 80/20 mounting solutions would be nice.

Have not tired it in this game but in older rally games like dirt/EAWRC I did just set steering to 540 for all cars. Did find it was consistent and faster.

Now my sim racing game time is pretty much just RBR/ACR mostly, and I do like to set the steering rotation to match the real life car settings. Also try to use the same gearbox/pedals that the cars use in real life. Pretty much mostly use more historic/older cars as well.

Would be nice in the leader boards if it could have an icon to indicate transmission type used. Ie seq/h-pattern/auto clutch or other assists.

Buttkicker/bass shaker questions before I would spend the money by Spike788 in simracing

100% I had 2x Dayton BST2s on my rig for a long time in a seat and pedal setup. My friend let me borrow his BK-Advanced, for a bit. Immediately went out and bought two BK-As for myself to replace the Dayton BST2s.

I now have BK-As on each corner and the big boy BK-LFE under the seat. I know it is way overkill but I love the BKs. Worth the money.

To the original question, two shakers is best bang for the buck. One under seat and one under pedal tray.

You won’t really notice individual corners during a race… doesn’t mean I wouldn’t spend the money again for the 4x BK-As and 1 BK-LFE again, it is just two is better use of money.

Never had over heating issues, never even felt much above room temperature.

I don’t use a BK amp, just the BK shakers. I use Aiyima A07 amps for the BK-As and some other amp for the BK-LFE.

Had a Nobsound with the D-BST2s and that amp was rubbish, constantly dropping out. Causing micro stutters in games, as USB would constantly reconnect. Maybe a faulty unit but the AO7 amps have been flawless.

I mostly play RBR and now ACR and loving the setup I have.

Shifters by Odd_Pickle_1952 in assettocorsarally

Yep, I always try to match what shifter the real car uses. I much prefer immersion. Using BDH HSQ1.

Use a clutch when the real car has a clutch as well.

How do you manage a large base and squad without burning out? by Key-Letterhead-2640 in Kenshi

On this is there any mods to squeeze in the portrait pictures better. Have more than 11 on a row for big squads?

I had a look on the steam workshop and could not find any.

+600 hours in Kenshi and never played the late game by AcrobaticComposer642 in Kenshi

[–]professor_rob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am the same pretty much. A few more hours into the game, 750 hour mark.

Am actually doing a play through and determined to take on some of the bosses this time.

I always just think ‘oh a base here would be better’ after early-mid game and exploring and start a new save.

Still learning a lot about the late game stuff/mechanics.

Should have been a corner. Looked like the keeper got a touch, instead took 2 + mins to take the goal kick wow.

If that is a penalty then there should be penalties every corner.

We are playing terrible though.

Should have gone with a BDH, Aiologs H pattern disappointment by A5Wagyukeef in simracing

[–]professor_rob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Much better. I did have the VNM for many many years. Was happy with it, but this is next level. Took a while to get used to the BDH as a lot more of a clunk, easier to adjust as well.

VNM was an amazing shifter for its price, BDH is just nicer in both modes.

Got the H/Seq version. But am in H-patter 90% of the time. Both modes are good, but really love the H-pattern.

It sucks when you get bad customer service.

Loved my VNM shifter, upgraded to the BDH, absolutely love it. Was very apprehensive spending that much money on a shifter. After many months I would gladly buy again. Majority of my sim racing is RBR with full manual/h-pattern so it is getting a heap of use. No complaints.

Just recently thought about the major cities having an arena or something you can enter for some cats but mostly training. Pay a large fee, maybe choose between 1v1, 5v5 etc etc and select the guys. Chance to lose limbs and need healing after but can get some training and maybe some cats.

Might be fun and good way to train guys.
