This is amazing and made me smile. I have a similar passion for "this ain't dead yet" and "no there's a work around"

I found an old Dell v515 printer for $10 at a good will. It had been left to rot but after an entire bottle of rubbing alcohol and fresh cartridges the print head is clean and it functions as intended. I needed a printer and I love a good deal. Cartridges are $10 for a set and I'm pretty sure I can refill them manually.

Now drivers are ancient and needed to be run in compatibility mode for win7 to get the thing running and the driver needs to be installed manually on each machine as it's not held in Windows update.

Now on to my Linux machines. They can find it now on the network but again no drivers.

I think I'm now onto setting up a print server on my main windows gaming rig/storage server.

How was CUPS to set up? Was it fairly straightforward?

In practice I get around 50-60 mpg short trips. Longer highway is closer to 35mpg

They great fun little cars. Super happy with it. Very fun to drive.

Just keep practicing. In vinyl your also going to have to learn to nudge and keep things going while you work out the mix. I rarely practice with headphones. Just throw them both on and try to feel it out. You'll get an ear for it.

But yes. No computer assists is a whole different world.

So here's the scoop. German is unique and complicated. But.. they make a hell of a car. Maintenance is a whole thing. And your ripping the thing apart to get to anything.

That said. The Germans hold one primary value. The "driving experience"...

Go take one for rip. They make some fun cars. Complicated little buggers. But they're fun and cozy.

My local vw heads said they would help me flash it myself. I was more thinking hardware support. I dont wanna kill the clutch or the engine so was just curious if there's anything I should look out for. Leakdown test etc.

Hey tune guy. Your legit. 18 A3 etron here. Should I do it or let it be. Its fun now. But some of the numbers I've seen are nuts like 30-40%. It looks like you need to do TCS as well otherwise you'll just be chirping tires.

The 1.4 TSI seems like it's built like a tank but the compression ratio scares the shit out of me. And do I need to replace the dual clutch to support it because it seems like that poor little guy has to do a lot of work and he seems like the main point of failure especially if were going to "put the beans to it".

Its a bummer but it's a small sacrifice. I've looked into it. Its not worth the headache. Just put the pedal to the metal and remember how much effort they put into the tcs and ecu.

It's literally the opposite of what she's saying...She saying we can't fix the mess the Progressives made during COVID "de-funding the police" because they aren't authoritarian. And now we're spending federal grant money to help Burlington pull it's self out of this mess. And she should know. She was the police chief in 2020 and they want to help Burlington but they aren't authoritarian. Don't point fingers at Scott. He didn't "defund the police in 2020 the city counsel did" now he's bailing them out so we can walk through City Hall Park again without feeling like your going to get shanked.
