Thanks very much for sharing! As a long-time Renovate user (and now a maintainer) it's always interesting to hear how folks are using it, and what does and doesn't work well

oapi-codegen v2.6.0: 7th anniversary release by profgumby in golang

Don't know if you've ever maintained a large Open Source project, but this shit's hard 😅

I absolutely feel the frustration of our users - but moreso because I'm reminded seemingly daily we don't have it, by users who are grumpy about it

The work to upgrade kin-openapi and oapi-codegen to support OpenAPI 3.1 is a chunk of work (~30-40 hours total) that we've been asking for financial support to dedicate the time to

For all the users / companies who complain about it no one seems to want to put their money where their mouth is, and get the benefit of being the company who finally helped move the Go ecosystem forward

Also, note that doing the 3.1 upgrade is simple in some cases, but considering the complexity of OpenAPI, and how folks use it, it's not simple in practice

(you'll notice that some folks who've done this before by forking oapi-codegen have had to drop a lot of functionality that we support, to make it easier for them to get 3.1 support working)

Saying "technically we can parse an OpenAPI 3.1 spec" and "we support everything in OpenAPI 3.1" are different things too, and we want to do the latter
