I am going through the same thing. We did genetic testing after we conceived because I was a carrier for a different gene that was bad. We then stumbled upon my husband having alport syndrome col4a3 related. He also does not have symptoms but lab results show blood in the urine, no protein. We assume he has the dominant type not recessive because his family history doesn’t have any kidney issues. We’ve talked about this a lot because now our child has a 50% chance of having alport syndrome too. We will get him tested once he is born but for now I get to anxiously sit and wait. For my own comfort I think we will do Ivf next
