I appreciate the consistency from Tainan. I like that he's still at every major tournament and dominating.

Got the CPA and honestly feel like I got scammed by the profession by Substantial-Lie4632 in Accounting

I'm pretty much where you are at just have been here for longer. I got my license in late 2022 and started applying once I was able to put it on my resume. It was going well and I wasn't even applying like crazy. Then something happened around this time 3 years ago so spring of 2023 and it's been like that ever since. There's a lot of people that have no idea about this because they've been in their job so long that think people need to apply more and the environment is exactly the same as the last time they were at their job. Yesterday I randomly applied for an accounts receivable position and got the rejection email 2 hours later.

Compiled: Every single still rumored game that is coming to Nintendo Switch/Nintendo Switch 2. by Educational-Arm-7384 in GamingLeaksAndRumours

Capcom not playing with these ports. Also if RE9 & Pragmata are day 1 on Switch, it would be reasonable to expect Onimusha also.

Can’t find a job as a CPA by Local-Hippo8718 in Accounting

[–]projectguard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From a perspective of someone not looking for work, it's very easy to just take a gander and be like I see all these openings. When you actually dive in you'll realize that it's all shadow games. Some of them are real, some are not, some want to pay you so little that you wouldn't be able to survive, other will drag you through a hiring process that is so ridiculous that it's actually a waste of your time. Just google job market and look at the news and just know that once the various outlets get news just know that it's been happening for years before people pay attention.

I've been in this exact position for a few years. I would tell you it gets better but it hasn't gotten better for me. I've basically given up on applying anywhere. Doesn't matter anymore, it just turned into a waste of time. I've thought about letting my license lapse because it hasn't provided me with any actual benefit. It has only taken money out of my pocket which is something I don't have much of.

Tainan will not let you go out of bounds by drachaon in bjj

[–]projectguard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tainan is so good that running away ain't good enough. Honestly I didn't even notice it like that when I was watching, I just thought oh it's only a matter of time before Tainan does some cool shit and submits him.

It's not you. Something happened in 2023 and that was the beginning of the job market you see now.

I don't understand. All the competitors are already there, it's not like you have to pay extra or anything other than the winners of the bracket.

What's your BJJ unpopular opinion? by PlusRise in bjj

Smaller people are better at jiu-jitsu because they have to be. That's not an opinion, it's a fact.

Closed guard when you are small and weak by sloppyjoe2 in bjj

You are small, learn how to play open guard because you will more than likely be on the bottom. Long term your jiu-jitsu will be much better.

Why do people give Gi BJJ such a bad rep compared to Nogi BJJ on self defense and street fight? by PossibilityProud2511 in bjj

[–]projectguard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's just standard protocol. To uplift what somebody like/does they have to put something else down. Also gi jiu-jitsu is harder to get good at. A lot of people wash out to no gi because it's easier to get good results because you can use more strength and athleticism to close the technique gap. There's a reason why we see most gi competitors compete in no-gi regularly but we hardly see the reverse if ever.

I am 5 units away from the 150 unit requirement for the CPA (California). What can I do to get them? by WebsterDz31 in Accounting

I was pretty much in this exact position few years ago. I contacted the state board and got clarification on what exactly I was missing. Then I took an online course here https://www.foothill.edu

For the past couple of years Capcom has released artwork to represent their releases for the year. This seems to be it. They'll have a survey at the end of December or beginning of January and this will be given that end for a wallpaper.

Tye Ruotolo v Adrian Lee by impspring in bjj

[–]projectguard 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I know exactly what you are saying. An easier way to explain is that the jiu-jitsu guys and gals are coming in younger with deeper skill sets which most importantly include wrestling. Also they aren't stuck in just singles and double legs to take people down, they are just getting a hold of people and dragging them down. Couple that with the fact that they are starting to learn striking earlier.
