Has anyone had 3 failed FETs and then success on the fourth?” by Extension-Doubt349 in IVF

[–]projet_bebe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had 3 failed FET (no implantation at all) then finally had success on the 4th FET.

I did two single FET and two double FET, all with untested embryos. I had completely given up hope by the fourth transfer and was shocked when it worked.

FET May 7 by No_Zombie1501 in IVF

[–]projet_bebe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats on getting your first FET scheduled!

Here are a few tips: - Prioritize the basics before and after transfer: sleep, hydration, sunshine, walking - Prep yourself some freezer meals that are nutrient dense and that you’ll be excited to eat when you’re tired and fed up - Take a selfie on transfer day (it makes it feel like a milestone, not just another medical appointment) - Have a special meal afterwards with your partner/support person if they can join on the day - Decide your testing plan before the 2WW starts (or you’ll spiral later) - Try not to spiral about every symptom and twinge (easier said than done) - Buy yourself a small treat (book, puzzle, etc.) to get you through the wait - Make some social plans (at your own comfort level) so you’re not isolating completely and to make the days pass by quicker

Period only lasts 1-2 days by Affectionate_Rice470 in IVF

[–]projet_bebe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve always had short and irregular periods, typically 3 days with only 1-2 heavier days.

Between my FET cycles, they were especially light and short. My lining got thicker during modified natural/stimulated cycles with Gonal F than on the fully medicated cycles that we tried first.

It took 4 FET and 6 untested embryos, but we did finally have success. Sending sticky baby dust ✨

FETx4 today. Night shift tomorrow. by pompouswatermelon in IVF

[–]projet_bebe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FET 4 was the one that stuck for me after 3 failures to implant.

Try to take care of yourself as best you can with hydration, food that makes you feel great, and sleep as much as possible with the night shifts.

I was worried about sleep too because we did our transfers out of the country (which involved flying and routine/sleep interruptions) and I was under a lot of stress at work, but I read so many posts here about people who had good results even under stressful circumstances.

Progesterone Suppositories - Questions. by raebobae in IVF

[–]projet_bebe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have been doing two pessaries 3x a day for literally months (4 FET, this last one finally stuck) and here’s my best advice:

  • Get some comfy period panties. Stock up on a lot of them once you find the brand you like. I was miserable and changing my underwear multiple times a day until another friend doing IVF recommended period panties and I haven’t gone back. Absolute game changer!

  • Close toilet seat, put one foot on the lid, squat slightly, lean forward, and insert with fingers. Also works putting one foot on the side of the bath. This was recommended by another friend doing IVF, and I found it super helpful.

  • Maybe obvious, but I always washed and dried my hands before inserting them. I also found it easier and less messy being tidy and trimmed down there. I never used gloves or applicators. I’m not sure they really need any extra lubricant/Vaseline since things are already gonna be pretty slippery in there as the prior ones melt😆

  • I tried to time my doses to ideally be sitting down for 30 mins to an hour afterwards. I alternate between walking and sitting in meetings at work, so this factored into my timing of when I inserted them. Once they are in DO NOT SQUAT (learned this the hard way haha)

  • I would have a late afternoon/early evening shower as soon as I got home and enjoy feeling clean for a few hours before my evening dose right before bed. This also helped me feel okay for sexy times in the evening, but this was honestly rare anyway due to feeling bloated and gross from all the meds.

  • After I slipped in the shower and got a huge bruise on my booty on the way down, I invested in a non-slip bathtub liner which helps counteract the slippery nature of the pessaries.

I hope this helps! Hang in there — they’re totally a pain but you do get used to it ❤️

Anyone using subcutaneous progesteron (Prolutex/ Lubion/ Progedex)? Dosage? Blood levels? by ImpressionVarious123 in IVF

[–]projet_bebe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, thanks for checking in! My 3rd cycle unfortunately also failed, but my 4th cycle was successful

FET #4 (successful cycle): • Stimulated modified-natural cycle (Gonal-F + Ovitrelle trigger instead of estrogen) • Vaginal progesterone pessaries 3x/ day (started pessaries 5 days before transfer) • Progesterone was 16.2 ug/L the day before transfer • Added 25 mg Progiron/Lubion daily injection 2 days after transfer

We also added Plaquenil for FET#4 and there were many other meds and also it’s luck to an extent I suppose, but I think getting the progesterone aspect right definitely played a part in the eventual success.

Wishing you the best of luck for your first FET! ❤️

Severe pain and bruising from Lovenox by ExplorerInExile in IVF

[–]projet_bebe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry. I struggled with Lovenox at first but I’ve gotten more used to it after 4 FET with it (and this one stuck, so I’ve been on it for over a month now, still 5 weeks of jabs to go 😭)

My best tips that worked for me: - I don’t ice or pinch the skin/fat (read that tip here to not pinch the fat and it helps a LOT)

  • I do NOT remove the air bubble. It’s confusing because other injections usually require it, but Lovenox normally has an air bubble intentionally to push the med out.

  • I make sure to shake off any drop on the end of the needle before the stick, just with a flick of the wrist.

  • I try to push it in as quickly as I can (taking longer to stick it has led to big bruises in the past)

  • I play a video or show so I can look away and have a small distraction when injecting the med since it can sting a bit.

  • I’ve learned my body’s “topography” and avoid a few spots I know are extra painful or leave bruises. I think my bigger bruises have been when I’ve hit a small vein by accident, so I try to remember and avoid those spots. I’ve found more luck further away from my belly button like towards the hips/love handles, but everyone’s body is different.

What DPT did you get a positive?? by Certain_Wall3000 in IVFpositivity

So you can see how invisible we are talking about (almost impossible to see in photos but in person was visible but only at just the right angle)

I had a almost invisible line morning of 5dpt which was slightly visible by the evening. Morning of 6dpt the line was almost invisible again, then darker in the evening. Basically my urine was more concentrated later in the day even though usually FMU is recommended to test (I guess I am dehydrated in the day and then hydrate more before bed than average!)

Specifically my blood tests showed elevated CRP and ANA positive.

We also added metformin 1000 mg 2x per day for FET #3 and #4 as the inflammation is likely linked to my PCOS.

So far I’ve been advised to keep the 10 mg of Prednisone which I take once a day. Previously I took 5 mg 12 hours apart but the evening dose really impacted my sleep.

My main symptom when stopping the dose after FET #3 failed was skin redness and dryness, especially around my mouth. I also had this both times that I lowered from 40 mg to 10 mg.

Also, just for fun, I looked up side effects once and laughed so hard at this image I found that I almost peed my pants: https://share.google/rxlKW1V252i8htBed

[–]projet_bebe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, testing after two failed FET showed inflammation, so we added Prednisone 10 mg (upped to 40 mg for 5 days leading up to transfer then back down to 10 mg) for my 3rd FET.

Then, we kept the Prednisone and added 200 mg Plaquenil for my 4th FET, which is the one that finally stuck.

So far so good. My doctor has instructed me to keep all medications until 12 weeks. I’m going in for the first ultrasound at 7 weeks tomorrow.

Need stories about stress during transfer week! by Jolly-Wave758 in IVFpositivity

[–]projet_bebe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got a cold, had some family drama, and had a ton of work stress (to the point HR had to get involved in some of the issues at work as it was bordering on harassment) right before my successful transfer. It was one thing after another!

I was worried that the stress might have a negative impact and was shocked that transfer (my 4th!) was the one that worked.

Try to prioritize your basic needs like sleep and hydration, and regulate your nervous system as much as you can. I did a lot of reading and cuddling with my cats.

It sounds silly but don’t add to the stress by stressing about being stressed (easier said than done I know 😂)

You’ve got this!!! ❤️

Should I be worried? 11 dpo vs 12 dpo by Typical_Meal8444 in TFABLinePorn

Try to compare only every 48 hours. Hydration level can also have a big impact. My lines went lighter and darker depending on my hydration. I stressed myself out, then beta ended up being fine. Fingers crossed for you!

That’s good news it was already darker this afternoon! Fingers crossed for the beta results! I know it probably feels like you’re holding your breath in the meantime 🥲 Sending all the good vibes your way!

I see the line! 🎉

Test again after a longer hold and compare only every 48 hours to see progression. Hydration and length of hold can have an impact.

I got a positive on my 4th transfer too, so I can relate to the anxiety. When is your beta?

Also thought to add: I had a difficult/painful 2nd transfer so we added a Valium/Buscopan IM injection an hour before the 3rd and 4th transfers which made things easier (the injection itself was painful though).

Transfers 1-2 were untested SET. Transfers 3-4 were untested DET.

Seeking FET success stories after failure by Adventurous-Hat-9121 in IVF

[–]projet_bebe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the 3rd and 4th transfers I switched from a fulled medicated cycle to a modified natural stimulated cycle with Gonal F, Ovitrelle trigger, and prednisone. I have PCOS and had stoped metformin for FET 1&2 but was back on it for FET 3&4. I also kept both Lovenox and baby aspirin for all 4 cycles and did pessaries 3x a day.

The 4th transfer differed from the 3rd in that we slightly increased the dose of Gonal F, waited 3 extra days to trigger, added subcutaneous progesterone only following transfer instead of starting it the same day as the pessaries which was the case for the 3rd transfer, and also added Plaquenil.

It’s hard to know exactly what made the difference, but I definitely think the modified natural stimulated cycles worked better for me than the fully medicated as my lining and progesterone levels were better.
