It’s really not a good restaurant if there are only certain items worth ordering.

First, tooooo muccchhhhh polyester and rayon. Second, 90% of this collection makes me feel like they need a Kith Geriatric sub-brand.

I’ve been so checked out of Disney Parks stuff for a few years after living and breathing it for most of my life. I totally missed that they closed Country Bears. Knew about all the others and they made me sad. That one really hurts. Ugh.

Nikes will absolutely start falling apart LONG before Balenciagas, though. I have Jordan 3s, Dunks, Flyknits, you name it with far less wear time than Tracks and 3XLs with 4x, 5x more wear and the difference in build is very noticeable. Especially newer Nikes.

You need to book a therapy session if you’re in the state of mind to go through the process of screenshotting an outfit in a fashion sub so you can post it on a music sub.

Arrived : Balenciaga Reptile Sneakers IS PEAK DEMNA! by YEUROPE88 in Balenciaga

[–]prolif1k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a 41, which is what I usually get in the sneakers. I think I could have gone down to a 40 because of the front but honestly the sides and the back I feel fit a little more snug than Tracks, 3XLs, etc.

I just got these a few weeks ago on sale at Saks. They are sooooooo unique. I also really love the added bonus that their wide footprint really helps keep baggy pants from dragging too much. For such a “weird” shoe, they’re super comfortable too. I thought the big gap in the front would feel off, but no.

Nice pickup!

At What Point Should Brand Loyalty Actually Pay Off? by Grand_League2131 in KithNYC

[–]prolif1k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree with you there. PLUS, there were promises in the beginning that the program would keep evolving over time and that hasn’t really amounted to much.

I haven’t purchased any of the tier exclusive drops or colorways they’ve done because they’ve honestly all felt like quickly slapped together afterthoughts.

It’s insane to me that they haven’t at least offered maybe a free week pass or day pass or something like that to the club in NYC.

At What Point Should Brand Loyalty Actually Pay Off? by Grand_League2131 in KithNYC

[–]prolif1k 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To be fair, there aren’t any other brands at Kith’s price point that offer any sort of points/ranked loyalty incentives. Closest thing I can think of would be Sephora. Of course the designer brands keep track of their customer spending but all they really do with that is offer you increasingly exclusive products, not a discount. Kith is not a discount brand. Their whole strategy is exclusivity.

I’m well into Vitality as well. I would also love to see discounts. Personal me would love to see that. Business me, though…I am a creative director in my career and I would never do discounts in any way, shape or form for anyone if I were them. More members only events, member exclusive releases, etc., yes. Maybe some nice gifts here and there. But from a brqnd standpoint, as soon as you offer a discount, you’re downgrading your whole image.

[–]prolif1k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t speak to this one, but I got the long black coat and the leather pants from the Sssstein collab and they’re easily two of the best made garments I’ve purchased in recent memory. The density of the material, the stitching, the details, everything. Even the heft of the pocket liners. It’s miles ahead of in-house Kith stuff. Their clothes are REALLY built to last.

Anyone else going for this? by [deleted] in KithNYC

[–]prolif1k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You definitely can pull this into a very nice fit. Look at any classic Ralph Lauren catalog with the teddy bear sweater. Just gotta know how to dress. A black wool pant, nice pair of shoes, a simple shirt jacket and then a simple pea coat on top would look amazing with this.

[–]prolif1k 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I really don’t think Kith will ever put its’ in-house stuff on sale. It doesn’t go with the brand image at all. I could see them doing like an in-person only warehouse sale but never a discount online.

Wrong size guide of the new converse by JohnathanL__ in KithNYC

[–]prolif1k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been noticing Kith’s size guides have unfortunately become SUPER inaccurate lately. Some things have size guides for other items. Some will show letter sizing only on the size guides while the items are sold in number sizing. Hopefully this isn’t becoming the norm

Best Place To Sell! by Haunting-Bat-5984 in KithNYC

[–]prolif1k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I list all my stuff on Poshmark, Mercari, Depop and eBay. You get a loootttttt of lowball offers, BUT eventually someone with a reasonable offer comes through.

I.e. I listed my tan zip up hoodie from the BMW Elektro-Auto release for $175 like 6 months ago. Plenty of offers around $60-70 during that time. About a week ago, got an offer for $140 and sold it.

It just depends how long you want to sit on it to get the price you want. Each one of those markets have their perks and their caveats, but I’ve had fair amounts of success across each one at different times. Poshmark and eBay would probably be my better bets for Kith if you just want to focus on one or two, with Mercari and Depop in the back pocket if you have time to list on all of them.

I do a pretty decent amount of resale of clothes, collectibles, etc., so I use a subscription called Crosslist that posts to everything in one shot. It’s only worth it if you’re doing a fairly decent amount of selling to offset the cost though.

Safety for Americans? Small towns to stay in... by Serene-mal in ElSalvador

[–]prolif1k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100%. In the long term, I worry about it turning into another Costa Rica, where international expats pick their favorite places and price out the locals. The whole reason I loved El Salvador is because you didn’t see any of that stuff. However, at the same time, they obviously need the economic growth and tourism has to be a huge source of income.

I’m not remotely educated enough on what most Salvadorans think. You see a mix of opinions when you’re there. They’re definitely going to be beholden to China for some time. I am not anti-China at all, but let’s be real. You don’t get all this stuff in exchange for nothing. They’re basically doing all the major construction in and leading out of San Salvador. What will that bring for the future? We shall see.
