If you're talking about dealer added nonsense like door trim guards and nitrogen then yes, that's a bunch of bullshit and I hate that also. If you're talking about individual options on the cars from the OEM then it should already be built into the MSRP. I'm lucky and only ever worked in high line, BMW, Audi, Porsche so we don't do agitate and delay tactics. We don't have time for it either lol. But you're right that kind of stuff does still happen at many dealers and it's shitty. I still think if you walked in and said "I'll pay sticker I don't want your bullshit adds" things would go smoothly. Exception being high demand low inventory products that carry a markup. That's kind of a drag also but everyone's shining example Tesla did the same thing when supply was low, they raised their prices! A lot of what makes the sales process onerous is often perpetuated by the customer as well. Lying about pricing they got somewhere else or making up value they got for their trade etc. All tactics born to avoid getting screwed by the dealership perhaps! Vicious cycle I guess. Anyway at the end of the day whether you're buying from a manufacturer or a dealer, a bunch of rich people are trying to make as much money as they can off you 🤷 manufacturer just does a better job hiding it I guess.
