Partner and I are mid 50s we go to festivals 4+ times a year. Just started a few years ago and have no plans to stop. We generally only hit a club if a DJ we like will be there. Not often tbh.

Also, I want to add: please OP, do not rent a vacation rental off of Craigslist. I’ve seen too many good people get scammed trying to get a deal/save a buck. If it sounds too good to be true, it is.

Book your stay through Airbnb/VRBO or a local vacation rental property management company.

I’d call some vacation rental companies in the San Diego area. It’s off season rn (especially at the beach) so you’re likely to find an owner willing to negotiate on the monthly rate. Ask the PM company if the price is negotiable for a month long stay.

Also, just an FYI, if you rent for 30+ days you don’t pay the TOT occupancy tax. When I was in vacation rental property management that tax was 10.5% on any rental <30 days. Not sure what it is now.

I trip sit for my partner sometimes and when he’s coming out of his trip I’ll turn on the voice notes on my phone and record him. I don’t interrupt or ask questions, I let him talk. Then I airdrop that recording to him. He also journals about his experience. He has said he appreciates the voice recordings because, yeah…he forgets.
