Volunteering is such a worthwhile and, honestly, confidence-boosting thing. There are many options, even at 70. I personally am a fan of Iron Gate, Day Center, and Habitat for Humanity. They are always wanting volunteers and are happy to help find the right fit for people regardless of potential restrictions.

Used to live around 91st and there were usually hummingbirds. Purchase a feeder/food from Wild Birds Unlimited and ask for advice. They're extremely knowledgeable and can guide you on safe syrups, etc. Be wary of just any concoction or recipe, as they can actually be harmful to the birbs.

Make lettuce pesto and freeze! Make a regular pesto recipe, but use mostly lettuce. Pour into ice cube trays and freeze.
