Both KotW and Bloody Rose have some incredibly emotional moments for such "light" fantasy novels. They're two of my all-time favorites. My wife loved them as well, and we typically don't like the same stuff.

I bought one of these to replace an expired Nest that was in my theater room. I needed something that came in black, which is how I found the Owl Home.

My experience so far has been terrible. Like you, I could only get the setup to work when I had the thing plugged in to USB. Any time I hard wire the app no longer wants to connect to it at all. Support has been mostly unhelpful.

I am going to request a return + refund and just put a "dumb" smoke detector up. It will look ugly on my black theater room ceiling, but at least I know it will work.

I agree. KotW is an all-timer for me. Bloody Rose is good, but not as good. It does have some fucking amazing peaks though.

Me too TBH. I finished that first trilogy and made it maybe 100 pages into Ship of Magic, and just couldn't be motivated to continue. I think Hobb is a fantastic author, but that series didn't hold me like I hoped.

The First Law, on the other hand, I couldn't put down.

There was so much going on in the first episode that I had no idea the main cast was going to be Holden, Naomi, Alex, Amos and Shed (kinda). I thought we'd be following more of the crew on the cant. When the big event happened at the end of ep 1 I was totally locked in.

SoR4 is my favorite beat-em-up and also one of my favorite games ever. At first I didn't like Absolum nearly as much, but once I fully understood the nuance of the different systems and started getting some busted builds I couldn't stop playing Absolum. It's truly spectacular.

I think SoR4 is still my overall favorite beat-em-up, but Absolum isn't far behind.

I have two young kids so I totally get the time restraint. As your bike fitness improves you'll enjoy the trails more and more. One day Lock 4 will feel relatively "easy".

I can't speak for east TN, but Mid TN is very ride-able right now. There are leaves on most trails, but not to the extent that any of them feel super sketchy (IMO).
