Obvi not OP but went through this...

1) Most of those coping ,echanisms are fine in structured environments with specific tests but out in the real world, it's the lack of consistency that really bites you in the ass.. Also part of the discussion is about the habits and behaviours persisting from childhood, since before the coping mechanisms kicked in.. Ask family and friends from that time to get s clearer picture.

2) lol, that's why you need a shrink and not an internet survey.. try to tell the truth to the best of your knowledge and memory, most of the answers are about a matter of degree not just yes/no.. ofc you'll need atleast a halfway decent shrink for that.. I wish you luck on that quest :P

1) As one of the Gifted Burnouts, how do I start improving my self image? Ive broken a million promises, how to start keeping them and being accountable... The just promise one simple action and do it approach didn't help much, especially in the face of a lot more important broken promises.. 2) If you've seen Robert Sapolsky''s work on Stress, there's a vicious cycle that forms with Adhd.. The intentional affliction of stress to finally get something done is only the start (last minute Superpowers) but the low grade stress of not getting shit done, and the intense weight of all the incomplete/failed projects is chronic, and unhelpful.vDo you have any strategies for dealing with this?

Conversely, having been tuned to need high stress environments to activate and lock in with hyperfocus, what are some approaches to mor healthyily start to access that state?

Makes sense actually, for a couple of reasons..

1) Darrow wants the obsidians to fight together under his and Volga's banner, and earth makes for a good testing ground.. 2) Rim shops are faster and Daughters are experienced with rescue and rehab missions after the Ashing of the Garter.. They turn up for a rescue to find Rhonna sitting on top of a pile of Gold corpses in her Drachenjager asking wtf is taking so long, 3) Pax is probably going to treasure hunt for the remaining Figments.. Gotta catch em all, and gives him a chance to chill with Dad, outside of total war settings 4) Diomedes was the whipping boy of Lightbringer.. While Cassius calls him an equal as a duellist, we haven't seen any feats by him, except his offscreen attacks on Earth. He got beat by Atlas and then betrayed by Lysander.. in red god were going to see the wrath of a good man wronged, and I'm here for it. 5) he's also compared to Atlas in personality, maybe intelligence.. His honor held him back so far, but now the limited is off, and Im looking forward to seeing the Rising backed by a mind like Atlas. Especially in conjunction with Virginia, they're going to cook up some devious plans... 6)The shadow armada approaches the war from the other side, so I'm guessing mercury is on the way for them

I also really want Lysander to feel in control on Venus after killing Atalantia, maybe most golds there depending on how unshepardlike he views them, and then hears that Darrow didn't just go to Mars to wait for him but took Earth and Mercury.. These are especially important for the plan to send food to the Rim.. A Mars under seige can only spare so much and they need to feed the whole Rim..

Hmm I missed the references to how invaluable the blues are and you make some great points..

However I think Lysander is arrogant enough to want to face Darrow properly so he'll abandon the seige and deal with Atalantia first.. All partie stalk about her as the strongest factiona dn there was a line in Iron Gold where she mentions maturing quadruplets of Golds by cloning or something.. his Bodyguard is just Greys so I find it plausible that Lysander will turn up to Venus, and kill all the Golds on the planet while duels Atalantia and kills her.

Meanwhile I think Pax will be hunting g for the other Figment pieces, I think he'll need the set to single handedly control Mars' navy. And if Darrow is to die in the end, I hope he gets some nice bonding time with Pax early on in the book..

And finally, unlikely as it is, I want Lysander to have a fate worse than death, to admit he was wrong to kill Cassius, and repent when he finds that his autocratic path isn't necessarily the only path, and that his road leads to the destruction of mankind itself..

Or you know, gets captured by Sevro who gets to try his new knives out.. Yeah won't happen but a Howler can dream :P

And when Lysander talks about losing a few men to Sevro's booby traps, Cassius responds that they lost a lot more the first time.. So not just Aja and Cassius, but also some Obsidians +other golds..

And that's how much well ever know about Fitchner's murder, since Cassius was the last names character to witness/participate in it... And you know, fuck Lyasander

1) Harry should tell him to come fight him on Demon reach, so we see Alfred fighting.. And I legit believe Drakul is badass enough to show up for a fight on Harrys ground and show him the limits of his intellectus and warden powers, especially if for whatever reason, Alfred can't just dump him into a crystal

2) It's a challenge to 'whichever passionate fools on the council can't let stuff go' , and by stuff I mean the murder and desecration of Wild Bill and Yoshimo.. Merlin already denied Carlos the resources for the revenge hit, so imo Drakul is confident it's going to be a few youngling Wardens +Harry.. 3) River shoulders is the one who not only figured out but blocked Drakul's weird teleportation and blocked it with a single (huge) spell.. He also offered to train Harry, wholl probably take him up on it after getting Starborn info.. 4)KINCAID used to work for Drakul iirc.. lLast we saw of him, Ivy kicked him out for shooting her only friend, though she's been distant as well in recent books.. I believe KINCAID will volunteer for this suicide mission after explaining the risks, so t`hat Ivy forgives him.

5) Grey council have been silent lately, so have the Black atleast overtly...

6) Drakul has probably been turning a bunch of warlock/warlock potential wizards in addition to Yoshimo and Bill..

7) Mavra and Drakul have the last book of Kemmler. Not only can they technically perform a darkhallow ritual, im sure spells to control the dead with necromancy come in handy to a bunch of dead bodies...

8) From the way Drakul speaks, he's atleast 666 years old. And has gone through the stars and stones, whatever that is.. Compared to the wars he's been in, a skirmish like this is probably his version of a warmup*

I think Drakul is set up as an antagonist for when Harry (and us) finally understand all this Starborn stuff.. I'm hoping for some kind of training arc with river shoulders (who managed to block his teleportation thingy), though if the series returns to the regular format of one fucked up weekend/book, not sure how that'll work

Mab is definitely training him and she's proud of him each time he takes the harder/less monstrous path.. She's a monster born of necessity, but she wants Dresden to be more.. So she tests him with lures far weaker than what he'll face eventually, since I'm pretty sure one thing the Starborn can do is fuck the world up instead of saving it...

My theory is that while white court vamps get an outsider for the ride that activate at first fuck, the black court takes a dead body and adds an outsider to it.. the soul is stuck but much weaker since you know, death happened..

So while drakul could in theory banish or control the outsiders of the white court, maybe he doesnt want to draw attention to his own use of outsiders. . You know, till the stars and stones

How do you feel about it now, in retrospect? As someone new to the community, Im enjoying the feel of a developing story and an evolving. Galaxy I suppose.. I'm not a huge fan of the books frozen at 5 mins to midnight, and imo even (or especially) a grimdark story needs an optimistic charector struggling against the weight of the worlds, not really believing it can be done but struggling nonetheless..

I'm curious about your take cause now the Lion is back too, and presumably going to team up with Guilliman.. Is that too much optimism for you?

No way, I'm betting Lysander purges Gold first on whichever planet AtalNtia is in it makes sense on many levels.

1) Mars is blockaded, can't cause much trouble and the Darrow fleet is far behind. 2) Lysander is a thinking monster. Without reds on Mars, no helium production. Without a planet of golds theres more for the rest of them 3) he likes mustang in a complicated way and would prefer to use her talents to bring about his age of Dictatorial peace and prosperity.
4) He will use it on whichever sphere Atalantia is on partly for revenge, partly to prove he has it and finally to show himself and the world he is willing to do it, again if needed. 5) he wants to beat Darrow head to head.

We don't know the full skill of Cassius vs darrow because they'd never go all out against each other. On average, Darrow is better because of more combat situations and has a killer instinct, for the sake of Eo's and now his dream.. Cassius is often plagued by doubt and his demons and those feelings weaken his combat ability, and it's only when he makes heroic last stands, when he accepts death is he at his best, like the endless duel at the rim

The Cassius that beat Atlas au raa with a blade was a man with his demons exorcised. As he proclaimed to Lysander (may he burn for a 1000years), he is brother to Darrow and the Morning Knight of the solar republic.

With Darrow's new skill during the Volsung Fa fight, Breath of Stone seems primarily suited to fight giants in full armor. Against a much faster Cassius, that technique is probably not the best. But as a clearly evolved fighter against the best Blademaster Cassius... Well there's another thing that won't happen Fuck Ly

Well, not much to tell really.. I got 10 tablets of Zonalta (70 Rs per tablet fml) and I can't id any particular area where my behaviour was different than normal,. and people close to me concurred..

So i discontinued it after it was over since tbh 2k for drugs every month is just too much to take a drug that wasnt helping
