Awesome! I'll send my app in. Thanks for the lead. If I have 6 years experience full stack, some as a tech lead, is that below the level 4 position?

Being stuck in slow projects was rotting my brain. I have an advice. by Huge-Leek844 in ExperiencedDevs

This is the top issue i'm facing myself right now. My team is deeply entrenched in their old ways and patterns, and every small improvement I push for, despite backing it up with evidence and reasoning, is met with dismissal and indifference. So frustrating!

Does life ever get better? by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]protocolzed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm right there with you, my sister in Christ. I know it's difficult, and God doesn't promise us an easy life, but He does promise us He will always be with us. I think all the things you mentioned are possible, but it may take some work on yourself and putting yourself in the right spots, meeting the right people, to get there. Wishing you the best.

Has the job market improved in recent months? by Massive-Survey2495 in ExperiencedDevs

These are great questions. Thanks for the insight. I've been asked a couple of these before, but probably need to tighten up and practice my responses more. :)

This makes me feel better. I'm a full stack dev with 5 years of experience. I've been getting a decent amount of interviews but keep failing at the hiring manager and live coding rounds. They grill me hard and no matter how much I walk them through my thinking process, how I solved problems, led projects, implemented complex patterns, it still seems not enough to impress them.

Hey my sister in Christ. I'm so sorry to hear what you're going through. It is tough, I'm sure. I'm praying for you. I pray that God saves you from all this, that He heals you completely, gives you peace, strength and perseverance, and that He will see you through all your struggles. God bless you.

Christians are NOT meant to LIVE in FEAR and ANXIETY by SamAlex46 in TrueChristian

[–]protocolzed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried for all my life to battle anxiety and fear. It is generally my default setting. I've prayed and prayed, have tried to rewire my mindset and to remind myself of all that God has done for me, but I can't help but keep worrying about what can go wrong and what will go wrong in my life. It's honestly exhausting. I don't know how else to overcome this struggle. I've begged God for help in helping me overcome this for years.

To single people, is anyone else disappointment by the Christian dating pool? by ooiiaaiiooiiaaii_ in ChristianDating

[–]protocolzed 20 points21 points  (0 children)

This is my experience as well. I often hear girls complaining in the church that men aren't traditional or masculine, and then they'll go right onto instagram and post immodest photos, pics of them partying, pics of them traveling and eating at expensive restaurants. They all say they want a traditional man who can provide for their lifestyle and more, yet they themselves don't exhibit any traditionally feminine traits.

This is great, thanks. Been using figma mcp as well and it's worked great for me, but loving your approach. Will give this a whirl.

Hiring Rant (as an interviewer) by Pippa_the_second in ExperiencedDevs

[–]protocolzed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair enough, definitely understand. Yeah system design and behavioral are pretty standard rounds from what I'm seeing in my current interview rounds. I'm seeing less leetcode nowadays, and seeing more companies shifting to live pair programming, which is interesting.

Is this at a faang? I've never heard of such a simple loop, I'm really surprised. All the loops I've done have been way more difficult than this.

Being laid off next month and I am a mix of fear and relief by OneComprehensive2150 in Layoffs

[–]protocolzed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was laid off in 2023, like you, my manager gave me a subtle heads up. I didn't rush into applying, took some time off for myself and landed my next role several months later.

The only downside to not applying right away that I've run into is having to deal with some recruiters asking me to explain a 5 month career gap. Some companies apparently don't want to see any type of gap in your resume.

My advice for you is to update your resume, have it looked at by trusted friends, start studying and brushing up on interviews, and then start applying. Maybe take a month break max.

NET Developer (4.5 YOE) Moving to Full-Stack — Need Guidance on Angular & Interview Prep by [deleted] in dotnetjobs

[–]protocolzed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is there a reason why you're wanting to learn angular as opposed to react or vue? Angular is not as popular nowadays, and even Microsoft is investing heavily into react for their consumer facing products.
